Those teams took spots that maybe other clubs or teams would have appreciated being part of something bigger then them as individuals. Doesn't matter the league; they took spots. Other sports would not allow the team next season to participate. that's how you stop it from happening.

If you're talking about ECNL U19 composite that is a joke of a bracket. Some clubs use it for overflow to give bench warmers playing time, players they didn't want to cut, older seniors with a place to play. It's an extra team each club can run and make more money. Some clubs don't even have composite teams. They also only had Champions League for that age group, no showcase.
