I wouldn’t let my kid near CFC. That club has been mismanaged so poorly on the girls side, starting with letting the Salem superstar and her friends dictate team placement (keeping the 01/02 team together after the birth year shift), only to see all three of them bounce to thorns academy. This resulted in Salem losing an entire birth year worth of teams (02). They further compounded the problem by poaching every strong 01 from the 00 team, leaving that team a laughingstock. Now they have exactly one good (great) team on the girls side. That team will cruise to Hawaii and lose 3 games in 3 days. Those families will continue to be happy with their club experience, but that team is done in two years and the cupboard is flat bare once they are gone. Every decent player in other years has left or will be leaving. Meanwhile, their little sisters down south are building a multi year dynasty. Their 01 team won’t win state cup, and won’t ever beat CFC’s 01’s, but the next 6 years after will compete and in many cases win state cups for years to come.

Eugene 01s played Cfc 01s twice this season. Eugene beat CFC 01s 2-0 and then tied 0-0. My money is on CFC for State Cup champs but don’t sell Eugene 01s short.

CFC was missing multiple key players both times they played Eugene. And Eugene won’t make it past FCP this weekend.

Only because it's true. Best team in Oregon outside of ECNL at the 02 age group is WashT and they got completely obliterated every time they played FCP's "A" team in the past.

The past was atleast 3 years ago, and the last time they were in the same tournament was 2 years ago in state cup and WashT won.

The 2001 FC Portland ECNL did pull out a 4th place finish in OYSA Premier a few years back which was a solid showing.

Look FC Portland ECNL is still a top ten team in Oregon. Probably would’ve locked down 6th place in oysa Premier or 5th even. They are still a good team.

The only reason people bring up what happened 3 years ago when FC was in league is because FC parents continually bring up how they beat teams several years ago.
