How does Bradley not take out Altidore when he can run down one ball in the second half. He should have been removed 10 minutes in. Every time the US was able to relieve pressure, Altidore could not win a ball.

Maybe they should "blame" Brazil for score 1 more goal than they did....
The better question is who to blame for you asking such a DUMBA** question
in the first place?!

Blame? No one. The US loss to a superior team with superior talent. There's no shame in that. The US beat superior teams (including the #1 ranked team) in 1.5 games and made it to a FIFA tournament final game. They have a lot of positives to build on for the future.
Do we really think that the US is a better team than Brazil or Spain? I think the key takeaway is that the US showed a lot of grit when there chances of even making the semifinals was very very slim. They played a heck of a half against the winningest country in FIFA tournaments. Hats off to the US.

Key here is you settle on a panel of players. Way too much in and out with the yanks. Anybody not on the panel should have to really prove they belong.

A remarkable, though improbable performance by the US. One that they
are not likely to repeat at the World Cup in 2010. Much depends on the
draw of course, but it will be surprising if they manage to make it to the
knock-out stage.
They're just not very good.

Thomas stood on his head in the first half, but with that kind of offensive pressure the inevitable happened.
US shows they have some pieces on par with the best. Goalkeeping is very good. They strikers that can score against any team. A couple of good midfielders and defenders. Just not enough of them at that level.

Goals during the tournament - Dempsey 3, Donovan 2, Bradley 1, Altidore 1 Davies 1. Unless you are counting Dempsey as a forward, 6 of their 8 goals were scored by midfielders.

I count Dempsey as a forward. Donovan has the qualities of striker, but is more valuable as at midfield. Clearly the best player on the US side.
There were several times Davies had a pass to an open attacker, but was dispossessed trying to take on two or three players.
