Stay away from EDP. They just pushed back decisions on league to the end of May. They will push that back to the end of June when you get to the end of May.

Seems like a pretty bias statement here as I’ve not heard about any other leagues making announcements about canceling the season?

Or did you just say EDP to suit your own agenda?

Clubs fielding teams in each age group of each gender can play club v club with no one off teams infiltrating

Clubs not meeting that criteria can still play in the league in separate divisions classified as team v team where each division could have a variety of clubs participating soecidc to gender/age/ability

Unless you play there, why do you care? All the leagues have pretty much blown up at this point. Most of the teams that had previously flicked to nep to NSL , should have remained together in the same league , with divisions according to skill levels. Now they are further fragmented, so you’ll get multiple leagues, vying for a limited supply of players. Travel for games will be longer, because of less teams in each league, Let’s just face it, NPL, NEP and CCL are now the bottom entry level leagues.

              TRANSLATION:

Club v Club: Large clubs that can field a team at every age group are admitted. Quality of any team not relevant and there are often better teams not allowed entry because their club doesnt have teams at every age group.

Team v Team: Entry is based on ability of individual teams. Often accompanied by pro/reg approach. If your team does well, they are allowed in or moved up and if they do not compete well, they are not allowed in or dropped a level.

                Took this from another thread:

CCL has 3 ways to the regional and national platform
                - USYS National Conference manages by EDP
                - USYS League Championship pathways via league play
                - USYS State Cup

                NECSL has one

CCL has a better pathway than any league in the region

Below also taken from another thread. As I understand it, EDP actually manages 4 of USYSs conferences. With that being the case - CCL stating that they have the strongest pathways is a lie.

EDP - win the New England conference and qualify for regionals. Performance at regionals can lead to nationals. All teams can access a national platform in the USYS National Showcase Series.

CCL New England - win the division and then playoff vs Long Island, NY (LIJSL) and Virginia based leagues (CCL & NCSL). If you win that playoff (God knows where you’ll have to travel to play it) only then do you advance to regionals. NECSL is quite possibly going to have access to this same pathway which is named the USYS League Championship.

State Cup - win State cup and qualify for regionals.

It is very clear that EDP with direct pathways to regionals, nationals, and the same showcases that the new MLS league will hook into, is clearly the strongest route.

With no more ENPL through US Club it’s also pretty clear that USYS is the stronger track.
