Its not a secret that the players from the stronger ECNL clubs across the west coast moved onto the GDA clubs this year (look at the LAFC rosters).

Also, since the teams from a single club won 4 out of 6 age groups nationally (while holding 2x practices - a week) - what does that tell you about the league?

Did you not read the OP's first 2 paragraphs? There was a big however in there

We want them all in the same league for precisely the reason you mention. All the clubs in NE ECNL and NE DA would make for a really good league with 2 or 3 divisions and some divisional cross over. For it to work clubs must be held to high standards, if not probation, then dismissal. And these same clubs should really push those top kids away from HS soccer.... wait I am describing DA... oh well the thought was nice!

NE ECNL is solid. Would be better with some of the GDA clubs added but is solid without them. Just get rid of the national travel garbage and it will be great.

What you're describing now is the Northern Counties. Except that they train 3x a week.

Never happen. Even thought I'd guess 75% of the GDA teams would just as soon switch, ECNL would never let it happen.

They have this theory that to be "Elite" you must travel....

The theory is that to be "elite" you must have a bank account to afford the travel. Ensures that customers will be affluent and then upsell them here to tim buk tu. If you think this is about elite soccer you need to go watch some of these competitions. Not too much elite is really going on out in the field. Meh.

Not sure I agree. They are Elite, says it right in their name.

                Must be true.

But, if ECNL said "Hey, there's lots of really good teams close by, let's work there and only occasionally travel outside a couple hours' drive, the league would be better, there would be better chance of getting players would possibly couldn't.

Instead, they put in a rule where you can only have X# of participants within X miles. So clubs had (in some cases) go to GDA.

Agree. They are the original gorillas of extreme monetization of youth soccer...masters of the game and copied by all who follow.

I did not miss anything. My post was sarcastic in response to your sarcastic post. But even if you were a silly fool that real though this was all 'elite", my post was still sarcastic.

Whatever. High Level girls soccer is soccer Disneyland. Phoney.

Isn't this the Foghorn Leghorn quote - “You must be standing in a hole boy. Everything I say goes Zoom, right over your head.” Good stuff those old cartoons.
