This result is expected. When you play against better players that have been taught how to play the game correctly this is the result you get.

Played the finalist last year and only lost 2-1.

2-1, 3-1, maybe even 4-1 loss could be written off because they played the "national champs".

Did they though? I mean really the national champs? National champs of tier 3 I guess. Either the champs got a lot better or they got a lot worse. Guess it makes sense for them to get better. Drew in some more talent with that trophy.

The irony is had they won, the result would not be impressive. Win or lose, this team gets criticized by the haters. For those following along, the haters are opposing coaches, docs and butt hurt parents.

Winner today has seven division one commits playing on the field. For those critics of the oysa and national league....think on that. And title 9 critics can take a hike. Your opinions don't matter.

Oh it would have been very impressive. That is a very good team. That team however would probably lose to the top 25% of DA or ECNL teams, for sure the top 10%.

It would have been impressive but there result was about the farthest you can get from winning.

OYSA and the National League are not in question. The national league teams fall right in the middle, better than the bottom 25% of ECNL or DA but worse than the top 25%. Reason is they only take teams that belong and you have to earn your way.

That team from Oregon just might not belong anymore.

Oregon club teams rarely belong or could ever qualify for a National or Regional top flight competition in USYS or in the yesteryear US Club (ecnl) leagues. We don't even have clubs worthy of consideration for the US Soccer DA. But with so many league options to choose from buoyed by the madness in the race for entitlement title ix monies-- top it all off with a pay to travel model, those that can afford it, get it do it. This has nothing to do with how good anyone actually is playing or coaching the game. It's all big stew of crap you purchase at the cost of dollars on the penny. It's an elaborate scheme that works on feeble, naive & gullible.

This is all true on the Girls side of Oregon Club soccer. But without any pushback from the parents the roadshow will continue to drain dollars and cents.

When suppressed concerns and feelings, such as lack of self-esteem; self-defeating thoughts and behaviours; guilt; and anger, for example, are not treated or dealt with, the person uses insults to unleash anger, to escape dealing with the pain or trauma experienced or as a way to exert control [over another person] and feel powerful."

Top of the morning to you!

No dog in this fight but agree. Never have understood why everyone in Oregon wants every other team to fail out of state. Over many years, every time our club team has played this particular 03 team, our team has been easily beaten. Makes our team look better if this old gps team can do well nationally. If they get beaten badly, what does that say about our other Oregon teams that always lose to them? Not good.

On top of that, they have multiple top D1 commits and we should all be hoping they all do well. If they don’t, it’s less of a chance for the other Oregon girls on other teams to get recruited. Same goes for any other good team from the area like Salmon Creek 00, salem 01, and ***c 02. We should all hope all of them crush it out of state, just like they do in state.

D1 commit for girls soccer doesn't mean much compared to a full ride Basketball or Volleyball D1 NLI. Basically going D1 in girls soccer isn't a high bar to clear as over a hundred Oregonian girls go d1 each graduating year. It isn't like saying she is going d1 in girls basketball or volleyball which are only full rides signees. Girls soccer D1 participation is inflated due to title ix mandates, not a diss just a reality. Understanding this massive aid for girls soccer and calling them d1 needs to be taken with a grain of salt. That's all.

I'm sure they will. It can happen to anyone. Just ran into a buzz-saw that day. They've earned their way there and I'm sure they'll adjust to at least be competitive.

Parents hard earned monies did indeed pay for the trip of getting blown out. It happens. When will lessons ever be learned, with girls soccer in Oregon seems like never.
