The Portland Timbers have already gone well outside their region to try and recruit better players than they can get locally. Now with so many players available from the former private play to pay clubs this is going to leave little room for a Portland Timbers teams of mostly Oregonians. This doesn't mean Oregonians will be under represented in the roster but more proportionally represented to the actual number of Oregon born players in MLS, which currently stands at 1 player in all of MLS, and he gets very limited playing time and is often not even in the eighteen.Comment
