DS made some $ on selling basically fresh air to GPS, genius.

Who knows maybe he is doing it again
DS was keeping Ben Joiner afloat at a loss for years. Ben almost did it when the NB branch peaked 3 yrs ago with 2 HS girls teams and about 10 boys teams but he kept losing his experienced staff and making enemies out of well placed local parents and local coaches. Now Ben is left with very young and unqualified group of 20 something coaches. They seem to be nice guys but they don’t even have local town soccer experience and the second in command, JM, never played soccer and has gotten kicked out of towns.

Since you know so much, which specific towns did he get “kicked out of” and for what reasons?

Revisionist History. DS was sucking the branch dry. Money would go down to Greenwich and then families told that they would not enter tournaments because not all money was collected. Final straw was when DS fired NP. That killed off the girls program and they never got any girls teams back. BJ was doing a solid job but was under constant pressure to keep funneling money to Greenwich. As a result players got added to rosters constantly. Angered parents and best players migrated away. In the end DS did a deal with GPS and was going to get rid of most of the staff in NB. That’s when BJ walked away with staff and club. BJ now calls his own shots and can do things his way now.

JM-Branford soccer club. For verbal altercation with volunteer parent coach, on field and in front of the 8 and 9 yr old players. No action was taken against parent coach.

Shoreline is a small club. As long as they provide quality training and they don’t charge an arm and a leg they should be fine. Consistent delivery is the key.
