If your kid isn’t very good but loves the sport
it’s probably good enough.
If they have any talent and actually want to
get better. Then run away. Well if you’ve
been at the flames they probably can’t really
run very well, so perhaps slowly jog away.

Lets see how many show up to the TBU ECNL tryouts. Reality will set in once they see that they are not the big fish anymore. TBU has talent at every position home grown or not. The pundits who say that TBU gets all the polished players is BS. Don't you want the highest competitive travel team to basically be the best at every position from the area? That's how it is in every sport. Most travel teams are all star teams. If you could is good enough then bring them. When you travel the expectation should be to win.

The troll that keeps hounding 03 team...Man you must be really sour. There are times where you could have a team that underperforms. I know your a WFF dad and its ok because everyone of your teams suck and underperform. Do you know what it even feels like to win a game? I know the clock is ticking on your kids future but hey you got WFF TARSA/DPL that she can shine in. Its ok I know it sucks for you but life keeps moving.

DPL comes with some benefits. Play for HS, less training days so academics will improve, but the price tag is unjustified, unless WFF is willing to adjust the price to the reality, mediocre training, expensive traveling, etc Weston DPL is playing PBG late March and then twice again a couple weekends after Also forget about exposure at CASL, Disney, Jeff, Vegas, the plan is to do just DPL events where, so far, not a single coach have showed up. Atlanta was empty and so was Dallas. Now they are doing Silverlakes in California (thread in TS) and yesterday DPL took down the “registered coaches” link because just one single local school had registered.
Join your local club, it may suck but at least you will not spend crazy amounts of unjustified cash.

WFF didn’t volunteer to join DPL as they claim.
They were kicked out of GDA and given the opportunity
to save face and claim it was voluntary before they
were officially removed from GDA.
Yoyo is going to ‘Coach’ the older girls next year
and will fill in as the other coaches inevitably leave.
There’s your WFF future.

That is a complete waste of time if your aim is college exposure. It sounds like DA money grad to keep as many players in their system as possible.

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostThis is not true. Even with all of the actual failures, they are playing other showcases. Mostly left up to the team as long as there’s no conflict with DPL events. We played CASL, others went to Disney and Jeff Cup.
The accepted teams to Jefferson were stopped from going to give priority to the nonsense DPL Silver lakes games in California. So Weston DPL coaches decided on a California weekend trip of no exposure and low quality games (but a great all expense paid vacations for them), that is a financial burden to the parents, instead of a reputable Jefferson Showcase with hundreds of coaches and teams from all over, many parents that are fed up already said no to Silverlakes leaving the teams scrambling for guest players!
Check again with your D license DPL coach about next season events before you pay your $2400 fee to Weston, next season it will be worse, RUN!!!

DPL and 1st year at Weston parent. Here is the truth or at least how we see it. If your kid isn’t quite good enough or ready for DA, DPL does play good competition for a B team. You’re not waisting time with the PPO’s or Hollywood wildcats of the world, and the allowed to play High School thing is cool. However, that is about all that is positive. The travel is excessive, Tim is good, but other coaches are ehh. They try and make training cookie cutter for all teams, which I don’t believe in. There has been zero cross training with DA teams like was promised and yes ZERO scouts at our showcase events. There is a serious lack of games so make sure you guest play as much as possible. Stupid substitution rule, not quite as bad as DA, but it is still stupid. Supposedly next year a few more Florida’s teams are joining but we will see.. finally, Jerome is boss, he has stated that he is the boss and will open up every conversation with anyone who speaks to him by reminding you that he is the boss. Lmao!!
