Originally posted by Unregistered View PostFC Florida does a great job for the social engaged, somewhat serious player.
When compared with their competitors, Jupiter, Nomads, Welly, Massive, they're probably the best option.
However FC Florida has made some poor choices recently.
1. They brought Steve Burgess onboard to coach the 01 girls.
If they haven't heard, a lot of girls left AC Delray because of Steve Burgess and his poor communicating and constant yelling at players.
2. They brought in a new 02 coach.
The man looks great on paper but the girls cannot understand him due to heavy dialect.
A coach should be able to sell himself if he is that good and again on paper he is qualified having a UEFA license. But when he speaks, you do have a hard time understanding.
Spoke with him briefly but overall nice guy but I feel his tenure at FC will be short.
3. Not enough girls at tryouts.
Sorry to say but I have been to all the tryouts and the 02 girls do not have enough good players to make a competitive team. The 01 girls have over 34 to 36 players but over half will not come back. A lot of them are already committed or are planning to go to other clubs, such as Boca United, Weston, PB Predators, and Massive.
Sorry to say that FC will get a rude awaking when those 34-36 2001 girls drop down to only 13-14 girls. The 2002 girls will feel more of hit than any other group, since majority of the girls went elsewhere.
4. The new board and Tom Powers are trying to assure parents that everything is ok.
Listen if you were at any of the tryouts, they are spinning things to make it seem that everyone is coming back and their will be sufficient girls(quality players) to make strong teams. To be clear, they do not have enough and the coaching staff is getting weaker. You bring in AC delray coaches who couldn't make anything happen at AC Delray now are here at FC. Why??? There is a reason why people don't go to AC Delray or stay at AC Delray. Now you brought them in.
5. During the last parent meeting at Lake Lytal, FC has not registered or submitted anything for NPL or any other leagues for either 2002 or 2001. Why not?!?!?
Tom Powers, I know you mean well but the Kicks are gone and now FC will going down as well. You already lost Adrian Paz and Hasan Jaddaoui, both good coaches in their age groups. You took Nick out of the mix for the 2001 and 2002 and brought in Steve Burgess due to Fazio, Joe Del Rae and other parents because little sally wasn't the star of the show or being played much. Maybe these parents should look at themselves and not the coaches for causing all these issues.
So todays' the day all the parents are told who is on which team.
I hope Tom and the board members are on the field cause the outcome is not going to be what you think is going to be. I believe parents are going to ask for a list of players already committed to FC for their age groups to make sure they have enough players to make a solid competitive group, else they are planning to walk away to some other club in the meantime.
The solid 2002 blue team was your shining star and all those players contributed to your success. Even the 2002 white team players contributed in playing with the older girls and even helped them win or tied a few games. Good Luck.

You lost any credibility to your story when you tried to say SB was downgrading the coaching staff at FC and comparing him to Adrian or Hasan. They both may be good coaches but they chose to be bought and left and we wish them well but Tom has certainly put together a top level staff and the players that sign with FC will be the ones to benefit. Best of luck with your new club!
Honestly do you know Steve Burgess?
I do from American Heritage and AC Delray.
he is a ego-driven, loud-mouth, demoralizing coach that you brought it.
he has been the same person at AC Delray but at American Heritage he got clipped enough to keep him in check.
Thats why during your great tryout at Lake Lytal, he yelled at a girl for making a long pass by error and that girl stated(a former blue player) that she will never play for him.
I never stated I was comparing Steve to Hasan or Adrian.
They were never bought, Adrian went to FC Prep or whatever its called now.
Hasan has been seen at boynton knights???? really that club is a major step down from FC.
So why would you leave FC to go to boynton unless you screwed up and made them leave.
Go have your daughter on the team with Steve, she is very bitter already so that will make for some good drama on the field(well if you have a competitive team) and if you ever apply for any leagues.

Fazio spray tan would prevent him in using complex words and created complete sentences.

The 2001s should be fine. A number of girls from the U15s who are true 01's should be joining the team as well as a couple from last year's white team. The core of the blue team should be back, unless you know something otherwise.

Yes majority of the 2001 and 2002 will not be returning.
Even though they showed up for tryouts it was purely for show and to see how things are.
The core of the blue team are not returning.
Majority of them have stopped playing or went to other clubs like Gardens, Wellington, Massive, Boca United and Weston.

Snake. That's a major reason many kids and parents have left- he still has his hands on NPL and SuperY rosters and it's toxic to many.
So much for "winning vs. development" like it says on the website.
