Please let us know about the single, league game travel schedules for a U16 academy player.

I think they discourage parental involvement so their supreme authority is never questioned and you can't see all of the crap. As for "optiinal" showcases since when are DA eventa optiinal? Oh yeah, they're not. or not attending an ECNL event? Yes some recruited players may skip but not many. Older teams wouldn't even have enough players if all recruited players skipped. plus college coaches often check in on their recruits at the events.

For those worrying about JD not putting his top players in the program or not following the prescribed training program, how long do you think that NEFC will allow that to happen without reporting him?
CLUB NON-FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Compliance with Rules & Regulations: Academy Clubs are required to comply with these Regulations, the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Disciplinary Code and any other rules adopted for the U.S. Soccer Development Academy. In addition, Academy Clubs are encouraged to report pertinent situations to the Academy Staff, which appear to be in non-compliance with the Academy Requirements. Reporting non-compliance on the part of other Academy Clubs should not be viewed as a negative, but rather as a positive attempt to maintain consistent standards that ensure professionalism and fairness, both on and off the field.
All Clubs are required to adhere to the Academy requirements. The Academy Staff reserves the right to decide how to enforce these requirements. Should an Academy Club be found in violation of any of the requirements outlined in this document, their standing as an Academy Club may be jeopardized. The penalties vary based on the type and frequency of the infraction, and may result in denied participation in Academy-specific competitions and programming.

I think that the sooner folks realize that both the DA and ECNL leagues are very similar, and will both viefor the top dog status nationally, with the winner TBD. Beyond that, it is a choice as to the path you want to take. Most NT prospects will likely converge to DA teams, with the rest of the top level players splitting between the two leagues. Those players will just have to decide which club, coach, team they prefer, which is no different than what you had this year with three local ECNL teams.
What you see on TS is folks bashing the other leagues, to help sell their own league, or justify their choices. It's the old Potato-potahto scenario like it is every single year before it.
