On the plus side it's an interesting way to get elementary aged kids playing more (since even in middle schools there often times aren't after school competitive teams). Many private schools already have their own teams and leagues, even as young as 3rd grade. Seems this school is a charter school, not a regular public school.
great more idiot, know nothing coaches, I mean teachers playing world cup with 60 kids. Ridiculous
Who cares?!? These kids are out there having fun and getting exercise. They are learning how to work as a team. They are elementary school kids so let them have fun without criticizing everything.
public schools don't have the dollars for teachers, let alone travelling soccer teams. this isn't going anywhere
Perhaps the parents are chipping in a few dollars. It's a charter school. They're playing in CJSA which means weekends which means probably all parent transport

IKR?! Everyone bemoans our lack of a soccer culture, then they shoot down attempts to build it because it isn't "elite". They also bit-ch that not enough inner city/lower income kids get exposure to the game or a chance to play, yet these Hartford kids will. What the phuk do all you soccer snobs people really want?

yep, it's been an annoyance ever since I got into youth soccer - if it's not "elite" why bother. GMAFB
