The US soccer landscape is dominated by west coast clubs and players, for both NT and top college programs. By the time those are included for NT you're left with maybe half the spots left to be filled with players from the rest of the US. Mason judge was a player from Florida that was part of this player pool for the national team. He went to Europe and is competing to play and therefore gets taken off the radar and other players step up and fill in.
It seems like the US coaching staff has had a lot of turnover in the last two seasons. This affects who they pick and may affect their performance. This team has some very good players on it, players who are in Europe or playing professional minutes domestically. We will need to see how they do and draw conclusions from the results.Comment

What is IQ in soccer? It’s about talent, it’s not robotics. That’s the problem with US soccer, trying to emulate British Islands 💩 soccer. Our kids don’t learn the basics playing on the street, they don’t develop creativity, they don’t learn how to play in small spaces (like the street) where they have to dribble, play fast, avoid being kicked, etc. On the other hand, here they learn how to kick the ball with his daddy (who never played the game) coach in a park and when they are six or seven they are sent to a coach who never played the game either.Originally posted by Unregistered View PostComment
