If you can't swing that much you aren't in play.
A top USYS travel team is 5-6
Who lied to you?

USYS is inconsistent based on where you play
And the thorns don’t have any team that is better than the top USYS or Ecnl teams in Oregon.
It’s a value but it’s cheap for a reason

The problem isn't the pool of athletes, it's what is done with that pool. That's on the coaches, parents, and professional organizations in Oregon. Far, far too many players show up at 12 to TA and are athletically capable but deficient in soccer IQ and technique.
No one sits around and thinks "Oh if only these players were more athletic." Coming on a forum and continually insisting that athleticism would solve the problem won't make it so.
In fact, if I had to guess, this is likely a parent whose son chose a different sport (probably lacrosse). Can't imagine any other reason why you'd cling to something that no one who works in this sport at a serious level believes.
if your are ignorant enough to believe we have any platform that could be called professional club/training for kiddo soccer in the area, that's on you. Sorry.
Forgot about the realities of what type of athletes this afterthought sport nets.
Oregon's drought on talent coincided with Timbers DA starting date, coupled with an over populated club daycare landscape. Not to mention more and more acronyms and alphabet soup leagues. All created to give a living wage to ostensibly afternoon care providers. Who have no business or body of work that backs up any notion they know how to train or coach the game.
Results don't lie.

NWSL Thorns DA has subsidy to offset their crazy travel and no recreational HS Soccer allowed.
Club soccer is the Pay to travel model, DA Thorns covers travel which is a big help.

Incredible that you can still find people who believe better athletes will solve US soccer's problems.
Do you people not get that American soccer players already have a reputation for extremem athleticism? What about that do you not get?
