Not that I care but this is patently wrong. This is based on old data or myths (sort of like people thinking that eating fat makes you fat or eating carrots will help your vision).

World Cup Final Ratings (share of households)
    USA - 27%
    Germany - 28%
    Netherlands - 88%
Sweden - 62% (70.5% for the Sweden/England game on Sat)
    England - 38.5%
    France - 41.2%
    Brazil - 41.7%

Soooooo, the bottom line is . . . . you're an idiot. In most soccer heavy countries they seem to care a hell of a lot more than we do.

Because USSF noticed that the majority of the worlds younger top female players were all coming from European countries and were turning professional at the ages of 15-16 just like the men were and that our system of college which proved to be a huge failure on the men's side would fail equally on the women's.

      And now you know.

The women such as Alex Morgan or Megan Rapinoe should do the same and be willing to do it if management calls them on it.

        The men receive no salary.

The women receive six figure salaries.

The men receive higher per game bonuses.

One provides a great salary with security.

The other provides no security with greater earning potential.

        These are the facts.

I personally think that they should both be provided the exact same resources for both men and women by US soccer, get rid of the guaranteed salaries, pay them both per game bonuses that is equal percentage wise to their contributions to their respective genders FIFA’s four year World Cup cycle revenue and call it a day.

That makes sense, so it won’t happen.
It is true that bonuses would be fairer but the USWNT is subsidizing at many players as possible to keep them in soccer (and keep them playing in the US). If they did this I suspect that many women would play in the European leagues for European clubs for better pay and support. This would detract from the quality of the NWSL and those players have historically been removed from USWNT consideration. A number of US players have been to Europe and told to return to the US if they wanted to have a chance to make our national team but if the money over there is just too good . . . screw the NWSL, players will follow the cash!!!

When you say that a person making six figures is not getting a “decent wage” and that $100,000 salary to kick a ball is “pennies” you have lost perspective.
DOC of soccer club does far less for a six figure salary. It is whatever society values to pay.

Their lawsuit also addresses significant differences in travel arrangements, playing conditions and support staff. While the equal pay portion of the lawsuit may not fly, they should have all the same resources as the men and not be forced to play on synthetic fields of which the men have refused to play on.

U.S. Soccer needs to pony up and pay them and support them at similar level to that of the men. They have more than earned it...
            Nicely put.

Because US Soccer knew it was gender discriminating by only having a mens DA and that it would face legal battles for not providing boys and girls the same soccer resources, staff, training environment and pathways to pro.

The men work far harder for their pay. For example, Concacaf world cup qualifying on the men's side is a minimum of 16 games over a period of months and requires travel all over north and central america. On the woman's side the US has to play a maximum of 5 games at a single location over a week and a half.

Now we are getting someplace. Salary differences between men and women could reflect differences in the amount of games and travel expected.

Jesus, get over it...They are protesting for equal pay and conditions. Different groups throughout our history have protested including the founding fathers...Likely your job, if you have one reaped its pay and benefits from someone who fought for a bigger share. Clearly you have no appreciation of our countries history in regards to peaceful protest...Too bad you missed the civics class in high school.

The men work harder....That's your argument? Yes, those 1.5 hours flights to Central America are killers. Probably why there results are so bad.You are a complete tool.

Spot on...In Western European countries women's soccer has exploded. Given the resources of the major clubs in Europe the disparity between our team and theirs has shrunk significantly. Only an uniformed fool would argue that only the U.S. cares about women's soccer.

They won the WC so give them a Orange or banana on top of their Earnings. That's more than sufficient.

The only thing the men's team know about the world cup come from watching t.v. Bottom line - when it comes to soccer the U.S. only has one real team - the women's. The men's team is just a money maker for USSF.
Wow,hopefully it's finally clicked with you.Men's soccer makes big revenues, Women's don't. Do like what your getting paid then find another job.

1.5 hours to central america? They bring back the concord?

The men have hundreds of hours more commitment than the women that they have to put in for training, games, travel, etc.

Man, you just can't display your ignorance enough. That sentence is virtually unintelligible. Men's soccer does not make "big revenues" in this country - it make crap because the teams and players are crap. We don't really know how much the women and men bring in because of the way USSF keeps its books - combining things like licensing and marketing. I can tell you that no one is running out buying Jozy Altidore's or that Bradley moron's jersey. Your arguments have nothing to do with reality and everything to do with your prejudices.
