Did you watch the World Cup group stage? You advance to the knock out round by earning points

If CFC was playing in a playoffs and earned one less point they missed advancing by a point. It’s not rocket surgery. Even you east of the river hicks can keep up
You may not be the OP, but you’re also a dope. They didn’t mean that at all. They were referring to goals as “points”. It’s dumb! Here’s their quote specifically:

“CFC U15s Champions League 0-3 with 2 games lost by one point (3rd was uglier 0-3)
CFC U17s Champions League 2-1 and only loss was by one point to the #1 team in the NW”

Didn’t the CFC 15’s lose 1-0 on the last kick of the game to Richmond. Lost 3-3 to Orlando city and win 3-0 vs Minnesota thunder

Sounds about right. Lots of offsides in the third quarter though.

What's that I smell here in the air?

Could it be the smell of rampant rationalization?

Not the poster but the teams did fine against some good competition in the top bracket. The one FSA showcase team couldn't eek out a win against weaker competition like itself. That is all. Meh. Just like the rest of CT soccer.

“Last kick” of the game? Are you my grandmother?
Lost 3-3? How does that happen?

Here are some rhetorical questions for you. Is having two teams finish in the top 20 in the country (one in the top 10) an accomplishment? Doesn’t that show that CT actually can compete nationally? Is Question Man a dummy?

Could we stop with the “top 10 in the country” bit? Every year that team has finished second in its pool and didn’t advance to knockout play. Impressive, and arguably “top 16,” but not “top 10.”

1-0-2 against three great clubs you idiot is respectable.

And yet, they are losing one of their top players for next year. OW is a joke.
