And they are repeatedly telling the GK to keep their feet planted there. Every one of the GK’s whether they are from Nigeria, Jamaica, or Scotland has had a bemused or annoyed look that says “Why are we doing this? How could I ever stop a PK this way?” - and they are right, you won’t! The PK already gives a big advantage to the kicker, but this approach almost guarantees that a shot won’t be blocked by the GK.
Sorry, this isn't new. I've seen goalies called for it before. Follow the friggin' rules and you won't have a problem.
Now, the problem is that because this is a dead ball, no other activity around it, VAR is watching it like hawks. It would happen often, but harder to catch because the timing of the movement when the ball is struck leaves you to looking in two places at once. VAR catches what would go by before. Doesn't mean it was OK before.

That's a different discussion altogether.

Btw when the girls come off of their lines before the ball is struck (despite not interfering directly with the play), it distracts the GK. This is why that should be called as well.

And, yes, if players go into the box early the same argument should hold on the goalie's behalf.
I think it should correct a positive result for the offending party. If the keeper leaves early and they still score, it stands.
If the keeper saves a PK, and the shooter's teammates were in early, it stands.
