Good question. One of the many mistakes SCA made is ******* off Butch - even Gavin knows that is a bad idea.

    Go Timbers!

The Timbers are a vendor, not an OYSA club member.

Oregon has highlighted how sick their parents and coaches are.
These threads bring out the dark side of Oregon soccer. It has not changed one bit.
Well in Oregon we look after nonprofits. Especially after grifters swipe their fields. Good luck in your next venture.

I was under the impression that the Timbers hired OYSA staff and then took over and used OYSA to get the benefits/profits of the OYSA leagues? Is that wrong?

Bad deal having for-profits and non-profits mix. I understand why OYSA would drop the hammer.

Do you know why they lost this field? You think they changed owners for no reason? Naive

Good for OYSA. They might get in trouble if they allow a for profit Timbers to get into their revenue streams. Keep it transparent.

And partnering with Rose City Futsal? They're TOTALLY not for profit. Way to be consistent.

                  It’s pretty clearly stated-

OYSA can’t have a for profit club playing in their leagues.

Timbers do not have teams in the leagues.

At least not the outdoor (spring, winter, fall) leagues

Requirements to play in the OYSA Futsal leagues and futsal cups are far looser--RCF house teams play in these, as do many ad-hoc teams that are not associated with any outdoor club (OYSA members or otherwise). At this point, there doesn't appear to be any formal registration system for futsal leagues, teams, or clubs. I'm sure we'll see SCA at RCF at some point this winter.

Doesn’t Timbers control OYSA? Isn’t a mutual staff member in charge of both?

Let’s see the details. This sounds like it might warrant dropping the hammer.

This entire thread is ridiculous. Some believe there is some major difference to end result (for players, league, parents) between the models. More than a few clubs use the "non profit" status to create appeal as if they are more inclined to help youth than a for profit model. Comments regarding the market are clearly indicating that discrimination based on business status with local government is ridiculous. Of the respondents, there are basically 2 that get it by looking at the insane comments on this thread.

Note, as you continue to attack anonymous responders realize you're attacking the individual not the argument. Go look that up and let it inform you.
