Boys PDA 2003 wins ENPL National Championship
US Club Soccer (tweeted/Facebook) about the win. They interviewed a PDA 03 player about what it means to win the national championship. They posted the players name in the interview. Now go to the DA site and find PDA u16/u17 Boys team and you find this player they interviewed on the rooster and see he played in all 24 DA games this year and started 22 of them. Since this is an 02/03 team, he must be pretty good.
So what is this player doing on their ECNL rooster for the post season?
Are there more DA players on that team?
Is it just a DA team playing in the ECNL?
Are there really two separate teams?
We all know the big clubs bring in “ringers” to try and win, but why?
DA has a post season
ECNL has a post season
The big clubs that are in both just shuffling players around trying to win something?

The teams that were at ENPL finals want to play the best competition, so if they bring in better players, all the better.

and maybe more importantly--who cares? play against whoever shows up

The DA however should care. They are using their own players to compete again them.
If the DA is the top level and everything else is a distant 2nd, then why would these clubs and players go and play in lesser events?

Originally posted by Unregistered View Postand more importantly, the enpl rules specifically allow teams to add any age-qualifying players who were registered with the club to the roster right up until the event. so totally legit to add kids from other squads including da teams from same club

Why should they allow a club to switch their ECNL team for their DA team for the playoffs? Shouldn’t the players that earned the regular season results get to go to the playoffs. With some clubs, the additions and switching of players results in less then 1/2 of the original team on the playoff roster.

EPNL is a huge money grab, most people know this. If they really wanted a tier two national championship, they could have cut the teams in half and have one event instead of Ill then CO. All about $$$ and lots of sucker clubs and parents think they are playing for some "national championship".
