Adding in the older at the same time as the Junior helps college coaches scout Disney once a year. Disney can offer vacation resorts and park packages to the teams, coaches and families. In the news today.. man visits Disney 2,000 times. It never gets old coming to Florida and Disney in November!

How will the Wide World of Sports complex have enough main site fields? Will they accept less Florida teams with the Junior and Senior teams both attending?

It may actually help the Disney Showcase. Most coaches were not spending four days at Sanford and then staying another couple of days for the Disney Tournament, that became very expensive and lengthy time commitment. By moving it a coach may very well feel that a trip in November and then again in January makes sense versus a full week or so at one time.

If Disney offered a "Free to Stay Package" for coaches and scouts, then that might entice them to make the effort. Understand, most colleges have a limited travel budget, especially the ones outside the powerhouse schools. Soccer is not a revenue generating sport even for most D1 programs.
Also, with the addition of boys ECNL and Girls DA, there will be a large scale "shift up" with players who formerly played NPL and FSPL. Not all but many. Players that coaches used to come to Disney to see will now be playing in ECNL or GDA.

Think outside the box. ODP could move its girls and boys Interregional games to Disney the days before the Disney showcase. Would the hundreds of college coaches prefer Disney over Boca?

Schools with tight budgets may have to make choices. Flights in January, post holidays, are much cheaper - so much so they might be able to send two coaches instead of just one at Thanksgiving. Disney was already getting more FL/SE centric. Bigger events attract more from all over. FL/SE coaches can still attend Disney easily without flights. Most kids want to go to school within a half days' drive from home anyway so it may be a better fit for local schools, less so further away ones.

Saying it ok because SE colleges will come is still pie in the sky. You think Auburn, Georgia, USC will choose to come to Disney over ECNL or DA events? It not just about the travel expense, it about the time on the calendar.
A lot of coaches came to Stanford ECNL and then stayed for Disney. I know because I have the game college sign in sheets to prove it. It was convenient and cost effective to look for talent that was not playing ECNL for whatever reason.
CASL and Jefferson Cup are already catering to ECNL teams over FSPL or NPL teams more and more so if Disney is making this move for $$$ overy your players, that sucks for kids, our clubs and soccer.
