They state that ct is getting a franchise and one of the reasons is because ct is a “hot bed” for soccer. Defined as such because it has the 8th best tv market for viewing the EPL despite 0nly being a top 30 market. Damn, these English soccer coaches watch a lot of soccer on tv.

Another big idea. Just too much money in CT to burn.

I think this is the other Hartford team. Hartford City FC.

No it’s not. HFC is an existing team which plays in NPSL

This is a new expansion team

I read that they can buy and sell youth players similar to the European academy model in this league. Is that significant? I always thought it was an issue with US labor laws but maybe I'm wrong. Maybe a merger with an academy team is being discussed??? Total speculation but I'm sure someone on here will claim they know the inside scoop.

Talks of MeegeR with either OW or FSA, if rumors are true there will be a rebranding of premier club they go with to match the senior team. The club will be used as a training base also for the senior team, hence looking at these to clubs as they have facilities. There will also be investments to bring costs down at the youth level with the intention to bring players into the senior team once out of college or during college breaks.

Who is stupid enough to believe any of this? US Men's soccer loses money, much of MLS is in the red and you expect some 2-bit semi-pro team that draws about 300 to a game (most tickets are comped) to some in and take over a larger premier organization and somehow subsidize it? With what money? No one would get in bed with these guys unless they stood to make more money. No gate, no merchandising, no tv revenues ..... what am I missing here?

The only talks about mergers was here on TS

The club will be based out by Norwich or close to casinos

That’s why they are called New England to appeal to the RI and Mass holes.

Call it North American and it still won't draw anyone.
