    Div 1 Womens CT Soccer

Just an observation, roster players on CT Div 1 programs:
    CCSU 12
    Sacred Heart 8
    Quinnipiac 7
    Yale 6
    Fairfield 6

CCSU players are largely FSA and the other programs have largely CFC players. CCSU had a very good season and were competitive in an average Conference. Sacred Heart in same conference and are terrible. Fairfield and Quinnipiac both weak teams in an average conference. Yale in a strong conference for women’s soccer. I hear so much on this board how bad FSA is and what a superior program they are. Seems like CCSU are more committed to CT players and doing far better than in state peers. Fairfield and Quinnipiac coaches, in particular, should be reviewed. Fully funded programs in a conference with several underfunded women’s programs. Universities are getting behind women. What are these coaches doing? They are either bringing in poor players who can’t compete or their coaching is poor. Or both???

Yale is not in a strong conf for women. Great school though.

You should probably get your facts straight before attacking your keyboard. CCSU players are absolutely not “largely FSA”. Look at the roster, it’s not difficult.

So much for your Fsa theory. Defender of the year in the conf was a cfc player. All other award winners where from outside ct. there was one Fsa player that made the all rookie team though, but I would t say that that supports your theory. Mick did a good job bringing in some Irish players. The Fsa bench players at ccsu do a nice job cheering them on

You clearly haven’t been around them or understand his strategy.

He recruits foreign players and gives scholarships. He then backfills with CT kids that are decent. Tuition with Room and Board is around 15k for in state kids. Some even get aid or academic money on top of that.

Kids can play D1 and not walk away buried in debt.

He’s hardly dependent on FSA kids

No one said he is dependent on FSA kids. It’s great to see that two of his best players were FSA kids and from CT. Why do you have a problem with CT kids getting recognition?

His strategy is hardly new. Sometimes it works and other years not so much

If interested in CCSU. FSA has the pipeline. Every club needs a marketing hook

Actually, the OP said it... “CCSU players are largely FSA.”

                    After the power 5 conferences
                    Big 10
                    Big 12
                    PAC 12
                    SEC
                    ACC

The next 4 conferences are in no order
                    WCC
                    Ivy
                    Big East
                    AAC

Look at the league overall rankings

half of the schools mentioned have had the same coach for decades, and are doing just fine. The other half are doing something about it with head coaching changes this year. Some take a lot of gruff, but you can't turn a program around in one year with players you didn't recruit. Ask Edsel..

Why did you omit the CT Division I school with the 2nd best record of any DI team in the state?
