    Shoreline? Shoreline? Shoreline?

How many Shorelines are there in south central CT? What are the differences? And why the hell would they all use “Shoreline” in their name.

It’s not that many, two clubs. 1. Shoreline United and 2. CT Rush - Shoreline. There used to be Shoreline FC but that is no longer in existence in the New Haven area. CT Rush uses the Shoreline moniker to differentiate it from the other Rush branches. This Rush Branch is probably the best of the Rush branches. Shoreline United is a small club that has 4-5 boys teams and no girls teams at all.

Lol thanks JS. The quality of the branch down there is very average to below average. Is it not run by a couple of dads lol? Shoreline United is even worse. They won’t be around after this year.

CT Rush Shoreline is run by two parents. Families don’t know any better and fall for the sales pitch which is a shame. CT Rush Shoreline has turned into what Shoreline FC were. They will take anyone they can get to pay the bills. Some of the teams are so poor.

So what exactly is the sales pitch? Is it something different than what other clubs promote? In years past it seems like SCP were the dominant club in this area. Now it clearly looks like Rush. Who are the two parents? I thought it was run by the Hand HS coach? State champion and also has CT Player of the Year.

CT Rush is pretty strong on the Shoreline. They are a young club but they are a good club. Serve both boys and girls. State Champions Guilford (Girls) are pretty much all Rush girls. State Champions (Boys) are also pretty much all Rush boys.

“What Shoreline FC were”? Shoreline FC in North Branford started about 7 years ago when Ben and Everson got a divorce. Ben was upset by Everson starting Ginga and keeping it separate from him. He, in turn, started Shoreline FC. They have been a middling boys program, with only a couple of good coaches. The rest were chum. They were never able to get anything going on the girls side and now Ben and Danny have divorced. This leaves Ben with a new club called Shoreline United. 5 boys teams, Zero girls and nothing for staff. All Shoreline FC/United have done is weaken and draw from SCP. As a result both are weak. Best thing both clubs can do is join forces. If not, they are going to continue to be poor programs.

Meant to say Hand HS for the boys. They are all Rush players coached by the Rush Director.

Yes, Rush Shoreline have several dads coaching in their program. The quality of the programming is good. They serve and deliver a well needed niche. They provide quality training locally to families between New Haven and New London. The top players will still travel to Oakwood, FSA or CFC. For everyone else looking for more than a town experience they have become a very good option. Their 2002 Boys are one of the top teams in the Region and are coached by the Director of the branch who also serves as the Hand HS coach. Hand have won the Class L Title for the past four years and had the State Player of the Year. Guilford is also stacked with Rush players. Guilford boys won Conference by beating Hand and the girls were Class L State Champs themselves. Old Saybrook boys and Lyme-Old Lyme girls each won a state title with Rush players. I still have not figured out how SCP crashes and burned so quickly. SCP left a void and Rush have filled it just as fast. How things change!!

As soon as GC leaves for greener pastures which he will do soon enough you are left with EG who is all talk and no plan. Rush Shoreline will be pushed aside like the rest. Just a matter of time.

Is this the garbage Rush is feeding to parents? Guilford girls won state title with a wide range of club players. Best players were from CFC ECNL, FSA ECNL, ginga and SCP as well as a few Rush players. To say it was a team with Rush players is totally misleading

I have to totally agree with this post. I posted a breakdown of a couple of HS teams during the Fall HS season and Guilford was one of them. Guilford has a nice mix of players from a variety of clubs, not just Rush. Best players on the team were an ECNL defender from CFC, a Ginga midfielder and a Rush striker. All were seniors. GK’s were an ECNL FSA player and a Rush player. After that you had a couple of CFC and Rush players along with one other Ginga player. SCP had two girls coming off the bench who were solid contributors. Guilford were successful because they had a diversity of players from several clubs.

Really? It’s ok for a club to mislead parents into thinking that their daughters will play varsity soccer and contribute to a high school team that the club has no connection to? The majority of the Rush girls played JV and were not contributors to the state title team that Guilford had this season. Parents need to do their research and save their money
