For players greater than 18 that they want to keep they send them to the second team (playing in USL Championship or USL League 1). Otherwise, it is off to college on scholarship.

Back in 2007, USSF jump started the elite development concept via DA system, but now its time to take off the training wheels and leave it to the pro clubs to take it from here. Job done. In the long run, USSF does not want to run youth leagues (and compete directly with their constituents).
Non pro DA clubs (like BS and OW) can continue their pay-to-play model once the DA system is disbanded, but will need to find a new league to play in. Their focus will shift almost exclusively to producing college ready players - similar to the ECNL's message.
I would suggest OW affiliate with Hartford Athletic (USL Championship) in order to stay relevant at the top of the youth development scene in CT.

This will happen. MLS teams are calling the shots. Agree it doesn’t make sense. The former 19ers will playboy U23 teams

Keep in mind that success is a choice. For shîts and giggles I suggest that you watch the embedded video on the tryout registration page of an annoyingly snarky preteen from some Fairfield County town (likely Westport or Old Greenwich) talking about BS.
