DC holds each player to a very high standard and expects much from them each practice. Come watch a session and you will quickly observe that the level of play is one that each player and team should aspire to where there is no room for showboating, horseplay or slacking off. The players are expected to reflect on performance each session and take personal responsibility for their health and fitness all in meaningful way just as they will be expected to in college. DC also has players perform the PACER test each year and has them participate in ACL testing/study through QU all of which are added bonuses to the CFC platform and experience. It is an honor to be asked to be on this team and not to be taken for granted.
Thank you for answering my question. Good luck to everyone in the academy! It seems like a big deal.

Apparently it shouldn’t, I underestimated the negativity of my question.

Agree. FSA is of ZERO help. ZERO. Neither was the high school (of a top team in state). Have had 3 kids go to on play. Is what it is, but parents shouldn't go in to the process naive.

Oh he is a spot. A spot of what? not sure.

If your kid can practice for up to two hours with a coach that no matter how you spin it, IS a great coach, instructor and person. Good enough that ALL the former CFC Academy college players (and you know their names)come in on their breaks to train and play with the current kids. Thats a better deal, idea or philosophy than other clubs are doing. So bash, but the parents that know, are very happy and grateful.

100% agree. 5 years ago FSA did 0 for recruits
Now they do about 5-10% of what they should
                    ECNL has been enlightening
Talking with parents at top clubs about what they do and how they do it.
Makes you realize how far FSA is behind

Say what you want about FSA or CFC. Both of them get their kids in front of a ton of coaches by simply attending ECNL showcases. The rest is up to the player. They have 3 days in the showcase to shine in front of the coaches.

High school has no bearing on college recruitment regardless of the strength of the team. Unless the HS coach happens to have a couple of friends who are coaches (i.e. JN with Brown & Villanova), HS success will get you nowhere.

Sure, but I think the OP was saying it's interesting to hear how much help other clubs give, and it's a lot more than the CT clubs are giving.

5 years ago they had that college recruitment seminar and the teams, coaching, training, and style of play were atrocious .... Same as today ..... What's changed?
