Playing in MLS not good enough for National Team

Italy boss Antonio Conte: "When you make a certain choice and go to play in certain leagues, you do so taking it into account that they could pay the consequences from a footballing viewpoint."

MLS all-star teams, in mid season form, put up at best a 45 minute fight vs european club competition most of whom fill out their rosters with youngsters and second teamers and are in pre-season form.

MLS atmosphere is getting better but it's still middling football.

Where does it rank against NPL and CDL? Just wondering...

Not true at all. MLS teams have no depth. An all star scenario solves that problem. They would fair very well against most Europesn competition except for the top teams in those leagues. Italy coach is stupid. I saw Giovinco playing with Italy and he still looked special. Unfortunately there loss if they don't figure it out.

Also, point to the great forwards in the Italian side ahead of him. Come on man.

Even at my old age, I'd look good in MLS...But seriously, I would think that Conti doesnt' believe that Giovinco would fit his system or style of play. Italians, Germans and most Spaniards prefer to play in their own league so therefore the style you see in those leagues, is what you will more than likely see with the national team.

Yeah cause that cutting age Italian soccer is so great. Who needs a dynamic high powered forward.

Yes a MLS all star team could compete in the first half against Europe's bench players ,the problem is the All star team would be retired Europe players that play MLS for a hefty paycheck.

Actually, the older European players wouldn't make an MLS All Star roster with the exception of maybe Keane and Drogba. Not sure the could beat out Dos Santos, Giovinco, Bradley Wright or Kai Kamara. In any event, an all star roster would not be scared of Everton or Stoke.

Against only the top clubs. They would likely spank Stoke, Everton, Nantes, and Real Sociedad. Remember these are the best in the league. You only need 11.

You need 11 legit players not 11 MLS donkeys...
