There is no rule against playing any high school sport other than soccer.
There is no rule against participating in extracurriculars
There is no rule against participating in family activities.

If You are saying that one additional 1.5 hour practice a week (4 per week vs. 3 per week) offset by (typically) one less game per weekend (1 per weekend vs 2 per weekend) somehow excludes all these items than that your opinion and I disagree with your opinion. Some Development academy teams use the less games on the weekend to get in the 4 practices so in effect are swapping a 2nd game on the weekend for a practice when they can.

What happens to ECNL and OYSA players during High School season when they are practicing/playing 6 days a week? they are forced to stop all extracurricular and family activities?
USSF and most DA clubs don't give a rat's azz about HS sports. they only want all-in soccer players. Sure you technically can do Hs sports, but 1) you're just as likely to be too exhausted to do both, soccer or any other 2) most coaches won't take too kindly for missing a DA activity (practice or game) for HS sports. Having time for EC's during the week is slightly more manageable with non DA teams practicing 3 days the school week instead of 4.

What they announce has no correlation to what happens.

The only certainty is it goes away after a few years of mismanagement and dissatisfied customers.

XF Premier is out of gda and heading back to ECNL. This is big news and another unfortunate blow to gda.

This is great news. ECNL is a better league in my opinion.

Compared to the local rec league yes, it's just a travesty that any Oregonian would shell out thousands to travel and play straight garbage rec/classic teams.

Why do they do it? Never been addressed.
