Is there a question what league is the best ? Tophat is begging to get into the league. This is the best thing I’ve read in a long time.
Dear Oakwood. Enjoy playing in the league no good clubs want to be in.

At some point, an enterprising parent at a non-ECNL club will file and anti-competive grievance and we’ll be back to square one again.

This is an indictment on CFC and FSA as well. I think everyone agrees that the best thing for all the players and teams is to get all of them in the same league. As a soccer fan I would love to see Oakwood admitted into ECNL and let those teams play each other year in and year out. CFC and FSA are blocking Oakwood and it sucks that club owners who want to protect their business can effectively do this. The money side is more important than competition. It’s the same reason why professional soccer have to figure out a promotion-relegation system. Having a closed system is not in the best interest of competition and development. I hate how coaches and clubs are always ducking each other.

A few months ago Tophat was given the choice by the ECNL to come all in to the ECNL or go all in with the DA. They chose the DA. They chose wrong and need to live with their decision.
CT is too small of a state to have 3 ECNL teams. CFC and FSA have the badges so if players want to be in the best league they know where to be. Otherwise enjoy the JV leagues.

They never have to back it up by playing them. Get those teams playing against each other every year.

Lastly, CFC doesn’t care about OW. It’s only a parents thing. Oakwood is less than 18 players per age group and in that most live in Northern towns that would otherwise go to FSA. CFC has had an pretty solid command on the college soccer pipeline here over the past decade, OW is really a non factor in their business model. Now with the DA gone, they aren’t even a consideration. Same threat as SCP or Rush

CFC was successful with this year’s seniors only because they came from around the state and from nearly every club including FSA and Oakwood. If anything this demonstrates that less is more when it comes to ECNL. This state has struggled to support two ECNL clubs never mind a third one. The league knows this better than anyone. Look at the Philly area. They have a multiple of our population, they have one really good club and two that are annual doormats. CT will never add an additional club.
