We had several players easily as good as the mid to lower level ECNL girls. At high school they all knew that.
Practice scrimmages are completely worthless in determining if a plater is good.

Disagree. If you are an A teamer and the B team kids want your position you better be putting the work in. Attitude makes the difference in tight games. When even a casual observer can see several B team girls are better in a game than top team kids then clearly tryouts need to be handled better and training opportunities given out in pre season. Competition is good

Who determines if the B team player is better? The parent? If the coach sees the player could be successful, then the player will be moved. ECNL competition is different animal.

And your kid most likely is B team caliber but you got the coaches wife a job or gave the coach one hell of a year end gift.
The coach’s wife job is a rumor.

Then the 2nd team players steps onto the ECNL field and is completely overmatched and lost. Those kids give it their all at practice but it's no where near game level for the top team kids.

What team or age? Not a reason to be promoted.

Go ask the only 06 promotion that happened AFTER tryouts and AFTER wife of coach's job was secure. Bubble tryhard player. No more deserving than any others. Slid right in. And she's really not helping the ECNL team but they are helping her.

They know they are much more at risk of losing a paying customer if they demote the worst player on the A team than promote the best player on the B team even when it is obvious to everyone that should happen. It does at truly competitive clubs but not at FE$A much.

Bubb determines who is better after reviewing soccerathon donations.
