Apparently logic and reading comprehension are not strong in this one.

There might be a couple of good teams in Pasco, but the overall level between Pasco and Hillsborough is night and day. For example if you were to compare the 5th best team in Pasco to the 5th best in Hillsborough, Hillsborough wins by 8 goals. Also many of the Hillsborough teams have to play 4A and 5A at the state level while Sun Lake is only 3A.

Wiregrass IS 4A. No Hillsborough County 5A even made it to Regional Quarterfinals. Nothing to brag about or assert superiority claims, ESPECIALLY claiming WRHS wouldn't even be top 10 in Hillsborough County. Utter BS. WRHS is better than ALL Hillsborough 4A in that they progressed farther AND beat:

        Gaither 3-0
Freedom 4-0 and they progressed the farthest of HC 4A
        Leto 4-1
        Chamberlain 5-0
        Lost to Sickles 2-0 (fluke?)
        Jesuit 3-3
        Gaither 2-0 (District semi's)
        Freedom 3-1 (District Finals)

        Here are the HC 5A:
        Bloomingdale (Valrico)
        Durant (Plant City)
        Newsome (Lithia)
        Riverview (Riverview)
        Strawberry Crest (Dover) - X
        Wharton (Tampa)
        Alonso (Tampa) - X
        George Steinbrenner (Lutz)
        Plant (Tampa)

At WORST WRHS is middle of the pack of the Hillsborough 5A (meaning top 5).

Your argument is comparing apples to oranges. Hillsborough has twice as many teams as Pasco. Most of Pasco is 3A, while Wiregrass and Mitchell are 4A, but that is starting to change with the population growth. Next year, Sunlake moves to 4A with Mitchell, and Wiregrass moves to 5A. Both Sunlake and Wiregrass made state semifinals this past year, so you would think they should be able to compete, depending on the roster turnover that happens every year. I know that Sunlake loses 8 seniors, mostly starters, and Wiregrass loses 2 senior starters. Then, each year, every team risks losing their better players to the DA. So, we'll see what happens next year.

Actually, five years ago. It was the 2009-10 team. Most of those kids (they had something like 17 seniors on that team) should be out of college and in the working world, I'm guessing.

Wiregrass Ranch had a great year this season. but, the earlier post about weak scheduling is true for Sunlake. That 3A region they are assigned to is weak and every year a team from Pasco or Hernando should be playing in the regional finals. All you need is one win against an unknown opponent you're in the state final four. Sunlake has done it three years in a row.

Bwah ha ha ha ha!!! Come on, Riverview Dad, really?!? Too bad the teams didn't play this year. You would have been surprised at the level of play. I see that you guys had a great season, right up to losing 6-3 in district semifinals.

                Let's Agree

Ok enough with the county chest pounding. There are certainly some good teams in Pasco County. However, the overall talent is much stronger in Hillsborough but this is expected by the larger population. Any by overall talent, I mean looking at the top 20 teams in each county and not anyone individually.

Next year, Sunlake will be tested, moving to 4A with Mitchell, Sickles, Leto, Freedom, Hillsborough, & Chamberlain. And Wiregrass goes to 5A with Steinbrenner, Alonso, Plant, Wharton, and Palm Harbor University. Tough districts for both teams.

Didn't know new district assignments had been made. Are these posted anywhere?
