Yeah, they have been pleading in club meetings for folks to consider staying next year even if they want to play HS.

They will need another field to pull it off.

Yes they would, but instead they'll continue to squeeze teams onto what they have and/or cutting practice times and frequency. This is a move purely to help subsidize DA teams and keep their fees lower. What a joke-wood

U16 practice will start at 11 pm and run to 1 am. Problem solved.

Oh yeah, on the girls side they are. And, isn't that what it is all about .... having the girls offset the enormous losses on the boys side for USSF (at the national and club levels)???

I've always liked that OW tries to lower costs for players, not just in DA but all. Sure that means hokey fundraising and sponsorship logos on jersies. Not enough clubs do that, even though paretns bi&ch and moan all the time about costs. First BDA was supposed to lower costs even further and a club has to make up for that lost revenue somewhere. Now OW has GDA to pay for also. This was entirely predicted when OW got the badge. It isn't going to be easy for small clubs like OW to cover DA costs, especially small clubs with both boys and girls.

And I think everyone at OW is embarrassed to ask their family and friends to buy raffle tickets to help their kids play a rich kid's sport.

Yes, absolutely. Certainly, prizes that are gift certificates to OW's soccer shop are not useful to most friends and family you'd sell these tickets to. Most families just buy them themselves, which adds to the cost of OW. Then, if you don't sell these or if you skip club events, like the dinner, your kid gets benched (unless they are one of the special ones). It's all really a mess over there.

Not really. Not all. There's a couple of coaches, like EB, who need to go, and the raffle and staffing the snack shack at the OPI are just so very sad, and the club is very disorganzied, but, all-in-all, OW's okay. Lots of history.

Lots of history is right...just look at their college placement list, many (meaning dozens) on the list are in their late 40’s now (including myself).
