The backer Mandell is truly a great guy. Passionate about soccer, has a lot of ties to Hartford and has done great things for the state and it’s people.

    I wish him well.

        100,000 fans per year???

major pipe dream, if that doesn't send up red flag......They would be lucky to get 500 paying customers per game

No, they could .... they are going to have 200 games per year and give away tickets to all of the local travel clubs each game.

as long as it makes good business/economic sense. Never put in big money if emotions are driving the decision making.

Agreed. That's ~5900 people per 17 home games. So virtually selling out the 6000 people capacity stadium.

The USL weekly average is 4300 and that was skewed by FC Cincinnati and Sacramento Republic.

Sounds like a bad deal for Hartford. Creates 50 full time jobs? What fulltime jobs?

125k a yr, they better be giving a 20 year guaranteed lease.

Perhaps Hartford should pay 10mm into the under funded teachers pension system rather than to give a new stadium for 10th division soccer.

Hartford is no Fairfield county ,this is a good thing just you watch and see .

A great opportunity bringing this to Hartford, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve traveled to city’s with nothing there but yet on paper it’s the capital.

Of the 125k Hartford residents, how many are soccer fans? Of the 3.6mm ct residents, how many are soccer fans?

If a quality team in a quality league was coming to town, maybe, but this is not Barcelona, it isn’t even nycfc.

To ask Hartford residents to pony up 10mm so some rich dude can have a place for his team to play is crazy. How do the 125k residents of Hartford get the money back? Over what time frame? The math doesn’t work. No trickle down with “50” full time jobs. I want to see what those 50 jobs are too. Are they going to go to Hartford residents? If not, another smoke screen to try and get over on Hartford residents.

When Elm City won the national title they filled Yale. But I can't imagine getting decent numbers into Hartford on a regular basis for games for a non MLS league It also shouldn't be a financial priority right now.

Ummm ... winning the title in your inaugural year isn't a joke

Team was fun to watch and produced. They certainly were better than Hartford City but you knew that already

There were 62K people at Yale Bowl for this game?

Hartford = Hole. Just like the baseball stadium all they do is give away tickets to all the local organizations and schools for free. Which is great for the kids just not good biz motto. Bridgeport lost the baseball team this year not coming back. Hartford will be next.

They didn't play at Yale Bowl. They played at Reese and it was packed. The point of the poster I believe was that Dillon would need to average more than that every night to hit their projections
