Not what was asked, but thanks for sticking true to form- arrogant and self righteous...

I heard that 3 of the little DA clubs are aligning to from one joint DA, and will be applying for U12-U15.

(I didn't hear that, but gosh wouldn't it be nice?)

Wouldn’t doubt it. Westside hasn’t really been a part of the DA.

It doesn’t align with their philosphy. Winning state cups and coaching liking its 1995 is their philosophy. They are in the business to win state cups and keep old dinosaurs employed.

Less games but more meaningful games? Heck no!
Having a certified trainer at games? Heck no! Westside doesn’t care about the health of their players!
Supplying a bench and a tent at games for your guests? Heck no, we are Westside!

The decline has begun. Clubs that align with the new standards will be the ones standing in the end. There will always be a place for clubs like Westside/pcu’s. Just look at the level of play in the PSPL up north....that is what OYSA is moving towards.

I don't think Westside or Eastside every really wanted to be part of the DA - always felt like Timbers pushed them to do it to counterbalance xfire, FC, and BSC. Washington Timbers kind of wild card in all of it.

Despite the challenges Eastside has had recruiting players in the program, feels like their boys staffing is committed to the DA approach, so it would be kind of too bad if they did drop. Westside's heart was never really in it.

No dog in this fight, seriously how motivated could any kid of family get after they digest they are playing salem, bridlemile, lo/wusc, fc and either Westside, Eastside or WA 4 x a year and that's it. Doomed from inception, this approach.

Yeah because having to drive to roseburg, bend and Eugene to beat the tar out of them is better? Give it a rest. This set up is better than having to drive to Seattle every other weekend as well..,

                          Sorry it's a joke.

Here's the thing: it's being sold to the wrong parents and kids. OYSA should be for people who want to play competitive soccer. DA should be 1 or 2 teams of kids who don't mind training more and playing less. Couple of trips to Seattle, two or three trips down south, some scrimmages against older teams, etc.

                              There is no fight, really.

Westside was never committed to the DA way - ask them and they will tell you that. Some of the other clubs - BSC, Eastside, FC, Washington Timbers very much are. Eastside's coaches seem committed to it, they just have had a hard time recruiting and the club as a whole has felt some burden supporting the program.

To the extent there is any frustration with Westside and Eastside is that they always seem to be the first ones to walk out on the Nike clubs.

Regardless of what leagues play in, genuinely glad to see some DA aspects take hold in our club and hope to see more not less. Also very nice to have a local option where profits don't go to Peregrine.

Lumping our local clubs that are only playing each other 4x a year as the "DA way" is disingenuous and absurd. Thanks for the laugh. Do you realize how stupid that reads? Sounds more like the final dayz of the OPL way. Jus Sayin. It is, what it is.
