SCP either lost or got rid of much of their staff over the course of the last year. Nate R. being announced as new Grassroots Director at Vale. That has to be a big loss for SCP.

SCP’s slow descent into soccer hell has been well documented on this board. I’m really sad to see this club implode. They were one of the best in the state and they have a rich soccer history. However, this is a cautionary tale on how things can turn so quickly. GPS is another example of a club on top of the soccer world and they will likely not exist next year. One is an example of a burn out the other is a fade away. Not sure which is more painful to watch. However, having clubs go away is needed right now. Hopefully this will make the Premier landscape more competitive. Note sure if Nate going to Vale is a very smart move though. Seems like a lateral move going from one small club to another. Would think he would have made the jump to a bigger club.

Anyone that knows Nate will understand why he isnt in a big club. There isnt a coach in CT that can shine his shoes, but he hasnt been turned by the greed. He cares for kids regardless of their economical background (unlike the big clubs). SCP used to be that why but leadership turned them into an ice castle like the rest.

I agree and that is why CFC moving to Bethany will hurt them. FSA will benefit the most by this strategic blunder. I think the belief was that Bethany was central location in CT. However, no easy way to get there. It’s not a convenient location for most.
