The latest from RIIL meeting: soccer getting canceled at HS level (or at least pushed to spring) - given many schools are going to slowly open up starting 9/14 and limits on bus travel, etc. not able to hold a season. Will try in April - June

Re club soccer - Gina adamant about the 15 person limit rule and does NOT want club soccer playing in games or scrimmages (unless the same 15 kids).

Look for a TON of fighting over this point and LOTS of people ignoring her orders. There will be an example made out of a club scrimmage / game, where she will start assessing fines for violating state public health laws (she can do that and has discussed it).

Ok. So let’s say there is not much club soccer this fall. What is going to happen to all of these Batsh*t crazy soccer parents when there is NO indoor or futsal in the winter, let alone other indoor sports. When flu / covid mix in Nov- Mar, look for these crazies to LOSE their minds.

She can’t fine a team for playing out of state. She would need to change the travel policy to pick that up. Just like she can’t force the 15 person rule if R.I. resident travels to low risk state with more relaxed rules or allow for greater restaurant capacity than R.I. phase 3 does.

"crazies" = people who can read and digest statistics and scientific reports about the transmission of COVID and interpret them in a reasonable manner

Actually these are more lies. First off Gina wants more people outdoors. And she wants sports so stop lying. Second winter is expected to be mild with increased flu shots, less people working and going to school work, smaller gathering and better hygiene. Will likely be our best winter in spite of Covid! I think there are soccer haters on this board. Club haters too. The same people who didn’t want Gina to say yes to schools opening trying to start rumors now about sports. Sorry our Gov likes sports, played sports, and sees the value. So stop the lies.

              Superliga failing our kids.

Shocker... why did it matter if we were in phase 4? Because this the soccer RI people chose not to tell the Governor soccer is moderate risk. If they had gotten it reclassified to moderate from high risk we would have games against other towns. But nope lazy. So now parents need to do the leg work. Write to the Governor.

              Updated September 2, 2020
2020 FALL SUPER LIGA TOURNAMENT Update.

              Hello Everyone,
We continue to endure unprecedented times with the ongoing pandemic. Although it is some sad times we are all going through, we need to keep in perspective that this will end at some point. We hope that it will end sooner than later. Life after this will be different, but we can only hope that it would make us all better in the long run.

              Be Positive and Stay Safe!

The governor late last week ordered Phase 3 to be pushed to September 28. This means that stable teams cannot yet play inter town competition. Stable team soccer within each club is the only type of soccer currently allowed to be played. So, the latest delay of moving forward to Phase 4 and allowing inter-town play, will not allow the 7-game Fall Super Liga Tournament, as we have known it to be, to play this Fall.

Besides all of us, I know the players will be extremely disappointed. However, we need to let them know that decisions are being made for the safety for everyone involved, whether some disagree, we need to adhere to them.

If we are fortunate to see inter-town play happen after 9/28, Super Liga would consider organizing a tournament over a couple weeks, for those who would be interested.

In the meantime, we continue to encourage all of you to continue to follow the state and cdc guidelines.

              Thank you all.
Our best to you and your families.

              The Super Liga

                A) SRI is proving that they are not advocates for the sport or for our kids.

                B) Gina can "want" whatever she wants, but she can't control people outside her borders. Which is precisely why there is no executive order or law or whatever prohibiting it - because it would not stand up in court.

Until I hear Gina say she thinks no sports I’m going to say shame on SRI. As she is looking for organizations like SRI and RIIL to provide her with data, facts, and creative plans. They could have shown all the articles that have been posted here on this page from CA to NY proving that sports Like soccer is proven not high risk. If they did, they could reduce the classification from high to moderate allowing games to be played in phase 3. They are lazy and chose not to. They are like the school board from Warwick, lazy looking for a reason to throw in the towel. SRI has now proven they should not be in charge of soccer as youth is not their priority. They did NOT do their jobs. Step down. Entire board should go.
In the meantime parents and coaches, write and call your governor and the press. Don’t give up.

So since Gina plans to move into phase 4 on Sept 28, will Superliga allow games to begin on that date? Why not create the schedule now. Teams can practice and scrimmage for now then in Oct play two games every weekend or even put some games mid week, Wed game and Sat games to get them all in before winter.

There is no definite plan to move to Phase IV then. The plan is to extend Phase 3 until Sep 28, but it could be extended after that or not depending on the numbers. Plus, Superliga said that it may plan a tournament then if allowed, but not a season.

Dumb and Dumber. Just plan on yes having soccer as we will be in phase 4. I know things you don’t. She’s totally planning phase 4 as soon as end Sept. so what you don’t know is she is being super safe this month opening schools, but her plan is to open economy and loosen up a bit for Oct and Nov before flu season. Why? Because she knows she needs to give RI an economic boost and restore faith in economy and in Democratic Party right before the election. She will want RI out Xmas shopping and eating out locally not ordering all our gifts on line. So she is planning to open up phase 4 to give an economic boost and phase back to 3 for Dec post holiday shopping. Expect Jan to be quiet time. How do I know this? Lol I work in government everything that’s happening at this moment is not data driven it’s politically driven. But in Jan it will be back to phase 3. Just watch.

We wouldn’t care what phase we were in if SRI did their job. Should have had soccer reclassified as a moderate sport. End of story. Step down SRI, you are lazy and don’t give a crap about the athletes.

And please SRI do not make our kids wear masks, so bad for them. Do like NH not Mass.

Sports Protest on Sept. 19, be there to protest Superliga/SRI soccer, if they haven't released a schedule by then. If HS soccer can be played so can youth competitive soccer. Like we keep saying give us a compromise. Competitive travel for u11/12 teams and up, recreation development with scrimmages for u10 and below. This is a fair compromise. Will cut down on number of teams traveling but give all towns soccer back.
