    Superliga and Club Owners Agree

Will Superliga and Club owners do their best during COVID to help parents who have kids playing for both Schedule games on opposite weekends or days? Ie All town boys games on Sat and all club boys on Sundays. All club girls Sat and all town teams on Sun. Give parents a chance to do both with less conflict.

On a side note, Word from a good source is Gina is allowing soccer, tennis, volleyball, golf cross country this fall with reduced spectators indoors and all adults in masks. However she may limit competitive travel to be in state only. So clubs can’t leave our state to play other teams or tournaments in MA or CT. We will likely not be able to host tournaments but if we do, they can’t be out of state or letting teams in from other states.

To address the first paragraph, Superliga has never seemed to give much of a crap about club schedules. It's always been up to coaches to coordinate with one another for changes once the schedule comes out. I don't anticipate any change to that.

Regarding the second paragraph, I'm going to throw the B.S. flag if Gina says that. Perfectly fine to cross borders to visit casinos, but not to compete on an open air field? One more piece of evidence that she's just flying by the seat of her pants and a lot of the arbitrary restrictions are just theater.

As an admin at a RI town program, I will say that in the spring we fight for the Anchor teams to be scheduled on Saturdays. Even in the fall, but the struggle in the fall is that many town programs have their rec games on Saturdays. Talk to the admins and coaches in your town and make this suggestion. In the end, the coaches will change games anyway but depending on schedules it can be difficult. To make matters worse, some club coaches schedule some Saturday games and it becomes a mess. People involved do the best they can. Some more than others.

A within RI schedule, would not be ideal but still better than nothing. After what we went through this spring, I'll be happy if I can at least have my kids training and competing in an isolated group. It beats just working on footskills.

        Bayside
        Surf
NEFC (They say they still have teams in RI, but do they really?)
        Liverpool
Juventus (At least I heard they just expanded into the state... true?)
        Bruno
Rams (Don't have teams at every age/gender group)

That'd be good enough, but I suspect no NEP team will play against Surf, and maybe not Juventus, out of pure spite. I.e., the adults would plant their heads firmly up their backsides at the expense of their kids getting the best competition.

I'm hearing no superliga season this fall. No idea if that's a final decision, but seems to make sense in the grand scheme of what's going on.

I don't know how that "makes sense." Schools are going to be like sending kids to the gulag for seven hours a day. If things progress steadily, we should be in phase 4 next month, meaning competition would be allowed (I think). And if Gina says no out-of-state games, that means in-state games should be a go. It would seem like the perfect opportunity to get our kids outside, taking part in something approaching "normal," that gives them a brief respite from all the madness going on around them. Before we all bunker in for a long, crappy winter.

Word on the soccer street is...The clubs that will be competing this fall will be the ones in our state: Bayside, Liverpool, Bruno, NEFC RI, I haven't heard anything about Rams or Juventus. I think it is just the four clubs playing each other making up the 8 games. Two games every other weekend will be the format but all outdoor fields and clubs will require masks on parents and coaches. Surf will not be included as they are not in the same league. They will likely have practices and scrimmages only as they will not be allowed to play in CT, NH, and MA as planned.

Well, Rams and Juventus aren't in NEP either. And I'll believe an NEFC RI team exists when I see them with my own eyes. But if those other teams are okay being Bayside's punching bag, then go right ahead with the exclusive NEP plan.

Let’s be honest, now that surf has grabbed a lot of bayside players bayside is rebuilding which means they won’t be beating up anyone.

Heed your own advice and be honest. Bayside has added players and teams this year. Besides no one is leaving to go to surf. Prove me wrong by detailing how many and at what ages all these players from bayside came from. Also, do surf employees get paid by negative post they make against bayside? We know they only care about the money.

Total lie. Bayside lost many players and many went to Surf.

And yet still no specifics. Give it a rest Surf / formerly gps ri employee. No one is falling for your nonsense.

This sounds like a stupid Surf coach. There are some smart ones, this post was from one of the stupid ones.
