could have been 10 took it easy on them and missing our 2 best defensive players - Weymouth so bad

Weymouth:
wins vs Dedham, Wellesley, Brookline & Norwood
tie vs Newton North
losses vs Needham & Braintree
Best result is probably the win vs Brookline. It's kind of offset by worst result, the tie vs Newton North.
Seems like Weymouth is who we thought they were: better than last couple of years, but probably not a contender to win the league or D1 South tourney. If they improve more than others over balance of the season, they could still finish as high as 2nd in the league. 3rd-4th seems more likely. If others improve more than they do, maybe they end 5th.

The good thing for them is, they're not looking like a "bubble" team to qualify, which is where they've been recently.

When you look at who Weymouth had played, an unbiased person probably would have favored Braintree yesterday. Maybe considered it a toss-up. So Braintree winning not a surprise, and opinion of Weymouth not much changed.

Except for those who last week thought Weymouth were legit D1 threats. Based on results to date it seems like it is more of the same

Give the devils their due if that score was correct, that is a strong result. Maybe Brainless has stopped expecting to win just because they showed up and are now working at playing soccer

Braintree is doomed to repeat its failures. They don't learn from history. They have a few good players with some serious anger management issues, who will blow their tops if the games gets too heated.

Easy. In HS, everyone uses 2. Urge you to write to MIAA to change it. Even American colleges use 3 now.

That was someone else. Anyway, if you're new to HS soccer, you're going to notice some BIG differences. Actions that would earn a card in other organized soccer, for example, rarely is carded in HS.

I was told that a team can be disqualified from the post season for number of cards.
Do you think that, although this rule was meant to discourage players from unnecessary aggressive play, it, instead, has discouraged refs from handing out cards??

The bigger part may be that they have to do some reporting whenever they give a card, so they try not to card so they don't have to do the report. The DQ rules exist, but they are liberal enough that no team should miss out because of them.
Also, whenever they give a card, they receiving player has to be substituted. Usually he subs right back in a few seconds later.
