My kid is committed and was composite FSA this past year. You get 2 practices, mostly with the correct coach, and you get 1 fitness training each week, and you get league games most weekends. It's true that the coach missed games because of other commitments on his end, such as his bonafide ECNL team. It's also true that one guest coach brought several of their own players and played them instead of kids on the composite team, who rode the bench. Make of that what you will.
Being on the composite team will keep you running, and will keep you playing, and so checks those boxes, if you need them checked. This is one way to stay in approximate game shape for fall college soccer, but there are other ways.
Morale and camaraderie on the team aren't the greatest, there's no chemistry, because of the way FSA ignores this group, one tournament was insufficient, for example, and so nobody from the coach on down is excited or even happy about the team. The team is just "there." Hope this helps.

For uncommitted kids, it is an expensive waste of time if you are looking for college looks. It is hardly taken seriously.

From what we saw, that was not the case this year. Perhaps the club is finding religion and trying to do better in face of all the negative feedback this past year.

Of course that resulted in movement. The only time FSA has movement is when a check isn't paid. If all the checks are paid, then there's no movement. See how that works? Tryouts isn't actually a tryout.

It will shake out as ECNL, Composite, and State. Not enough kids to field four teams. Too bad. They have the field space :)
