Sounds like your kid goes to Hopkins. Great school, she must be wicked smart. I feel you on the coaching though. Sub par for the tuition paid

Hopkins is a day school so it doesn't draw kids from "all over" like boarding schools do. It's also fairly small and attracts nerds....really smart nerds.

2018 Schedules are out, doesn't look like they changed much. Season will come down to who the better coaches are. There are only a handful of great coaches in the league, the rest do it just to get a paycheck.

A Westport athlete who attended Hopkins and plays for CFC ECNL will be playing for Yale next year. She received an excellent high school education, will receive an excellent college education and will be able to play soccer throughout her college years. Bravo!

I never said it was a bad school, in fact it's excellent and it has a fast track for Yale. But it is not the same thing as a boarding school, as all the kids are CT based. Hopkins isn't a perennial athletic powerhouse but has winning teams now and then

Of course they do, but in the post season it all comes down to coaching. There are coaches who do a lot with less and coaches who do nothing with more. Just look at the style of play for some teams , and you will see who the good coaches are.

You didn’t have to say it, the snobby boarding school comment was enough to give you away. Hopkins has smarter kids than choate. Parents are smarter too. They don’t have to pay for their kid to board for 4 years. They can actually have family dinners together

They probably do but they dont play soccer. The soccer players are all going to low level d1 schools with mediicre academic reputations .... But, hey, little Mia got $100 of athletic money for each and every year she plays!
