Parents are insecure because they think they have a leg up on the college recruiting game, and along comes a competing league that is just as prestigious and attractive to college coaches, if not more so.

ECNL coaches are insecure for obviou$ rea$on$.

And DA programs are harder and more expensive to run. They don't get to take the fall off, there's all sorts of technical requirements that don't apply to other leagues--club fees go further with ECNL. More money left over for the staff.

Long way to go before you can call GDA more prestigious in terms of recruiting. This year's class and really the next two are all prior ECNL commits. It will take time to prove that a GDA path is a better development pathway. Thus far it's off to a rocky start. Some very good clubs dropped out and they only added a few port quality clubs.

CU and FC P are not the DA it's real simple. They are local clubs trying hard. God bless them.

        Mileage partners for life :)

GDA is dying out fast. It was a joke from the start and it's already dead in Portland. Has been since Thornz Asylum started 4 years ago. No coaching. No talent. Rec-level competition. Now that it's been shipped off to Eastside to drive the final nail in the coffin, all will soon be right in the world again.

Trying hard and succeeding unlike the 4-year track record of zero college players and zero pro players from the Thornz Asylum. Really, why are Thornz Asylum parents so insecure? Maybe it's because they should be insecure. They've been taken to the cleaners by their Alliance club, then by Peregrine, and now they're being left out in the cold as the Asylum is handed off to Eastside to run into the ground. I'd be insecure if I was an Asylum parent too.

4th place OYSA premier isn’t a bad result.

                  That's pretty good.

All of the fc Portland Ecnl teams wouldn't be best in state at any age group.

Most are hovering around at 3rd-5th.

Where are the ECNL rosters? Are they ashamed to post them? I heard that there were mass defections.

There were mass defections. From Thornz Asylum back to the rec leagues. ECNL rosters are very stable year over year and will be posted by August 1st, just like the ECNL rules state. Just because Thornz Asylum teams haven't played a meaningful game since their first forfeit with Burlingame doesn't mean that the top league in the nation, ECNL, isn't still in season and playing games that matter.

Seattle this week. Maybe you drive up there, if the General Lee will make it that far, so you can see what real soccer looks like.

Every year since the Oregon clubs joined ECNL, they have released their rosters on August 1.

Last year Thorns released their rosters immediately after tryouts, with a note next to every player indicating what club they came from. This was a clear attempt to make the ECNL clubs look bad.

As of today we are 40 plus days past the end of Thorns tryouts. Their season has been over for almost 3 weeks. Yet no rosters. I guess it takes longer than you’d think to polish a turd.

Just go check the 03 practices - its like Hurricane Irma came through. 6 players gone from last years roster now, three starters to the 'terrible' ECNL. Puke a puck, thats bad. DA middle school 04s and 05s bragging that they're 'playing up' at school. Puke a puck, thats bad!

The 03 roster from last year would be playing the combined 02/03 roster this year. Are you really an ECNL parent attending a GDA practice? Interesting lie considering new rosters are not practicing yet. Why ARE ECNL parents (and admins) so insecure? Probably because they got outpaced with D1 and overall college commits by the GDA. "Just the facts"
