Brandon's U-17 Boys team is made up of mostly players from Sarasota/Bradenton. It received the majority of players from MJ's team last year. (Lil MJ is in the Clearwater Academy program as well as 2 others from that team)

It should also be pointed out many of the top senior players are traveling to Brandon (U18G core team, 2 U17 Girls, 2 U16 Girls, U15G core team, U17B core team, 3 U14B)-- so, although the area has many clubs, many of the top players travel far to find teams and training suitable. There are other players that make the drive to the real Clearwater and Tampa Bay United.

In U-14 Boys, there is only 1 local team (CCLwr). You have 3 State ODP level players in the Sarasota/Bradenton area at U-14. 2 play for Brandon and 1 plays for Wesley Chapel (that's right, Wesley Chapel!). There are also quality players that play up to U-15 for CCLwr and one strong player that plays up to the Braden River U-15 team.

When you consider the number of senior teams, you need to also understand where the elite players are going to determine the importance of an elite level club in the area. The current leadership for Braden River and FC Sarasota have proven a lack of desire to cater to the elite level players and build elite level teams club-wide.

The best teams in the area comprised of 5 or more local Sarasota/Bradenton players:

        Girls:

        U15 - Brandon
        U16 - CC
        U17 - BR
        U18 - CC / Brandon (toss-up)

        Boys:

        U15 - CC
        U16 - CC
        U17 - Brandon
        U18 - FCS

It is good to have clubs for all kind of levels and goals. But the most important is to serve the community teach them the game, teach them to love it and teach them to work has a team.
If the kids that want to advance.... off course they have to try different coaches, clubs, etc etc
The clubs should be working has a team and if someone is good the club should advice the parents to move their kid to the next step.
BM at BR and the knuckleheads that run FCS have no interest in this...CC@lwr is the ONLY club that offers every level of soccer that a youth player can play at...recreation, competitive, and US Academy...that is why they are different and a better club...all BR and FCS want is run CC out of town and that wont ever happen...

On the girls side all of the CC teams came from BR. On the boys side, all of the CC teams came from FCS.
on the girls side for u15g, the CC team I think has players from IMG, BR and FCS on it.
It could very well be a toss up between CC and FCS as to which team is better. A couple of FCS very good players joined CC this year.

Who cares about league play? That's exactly what it is League play. Should be more worried about what tournaments and how they do..

on the cdl website, there are cclwr teams listed in different clubs cdl spots. If the cclwr teams cannot play state cup due to the fysa agm ruling, then cdl is a fysa state sanctioned league, how does that work? Or is it that the the rule doesnt start till
                2012-2013 season.

"On the girls side all of the CC teams came from BR". not accurate statement either as to U16 girls. they came from IMG, FCS, BR and I think there is a girl from Brandon too... if she is still in... it is easy to make general statements, but it is not accurate.

The core of that team came from BR. And without naming names, almost all, if not all of the girls played from BR at one time or the other. So, the team really is a BR team - generally speaking.

Good point - although the list is a bit exagerated. How many local players - are actually at Brandon or other clubs? (talking senior players only)

that type of behavior is a small demonstration of what and how the 3 of them run their clubs. Its ok, soon a great announcement in reference to speed and conditioning will be known that will again propel cc another step above them

LWR /CC teams are listed at Tampa Bay United / Strictly Soccer/ Clearwater / Lakeland.
I am also hearing that some of these DOCs at these clubs are having 2nd thoughts
about the way they voted in reference to not allowing cclwr their own CDL allocation.
In speaking with 1 of them they now have a better understanding and with the # of teams that CClwr should have next season, votes can change very quickly
