Not only is there NO correlation between preteen sports specialization (year round sport aka travel team) and later reaching elite status, but the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center says that sports specialization before high school puts young athletes at risk for, "A loss of of transferable athletic skills, over-use and other stress related injuries, higher anxiety levels, difficulty coping with failure, and burn-out!"
