So it's not Wesley Chapel? Or maybe they get announced tomorrow as the travel partner! :)

My guess is that in a year or 2 ECNL will make TBU choose to either put boys ENCL at the top of their pyramid of teams or will drop TBU from boys ECNL. The trend is out there for ECNL to want to no longer play nice in the sandbox with DA.

What Fl Premier did was extraordinary in light of the other clubs in the area. They put their words into action and completely took an end run around all
the other local clubs - and did so the right way. They delivered. Congrats and keep up the good work FL Premier !

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostNow the real work begins for FP. We were at TBU when they were awarded ECNL. Even though they had a strong infrastructure in place and highly functional Board, the requirements of ECNL overwhelmed the club the first year and some things were handled well and some things not. Second year (and each year after that) got better. But even things that seemed straight forward were much more complicated than they anticipated.

This sounds about right to me. It will definitely be growing pains going from a nothing club, to a regional club and now trying to go to a national club. WFF couldn't make the leap, TBU did. Now we shall see if Florida Premier can make it through the 2-3 years of growing pains they will no doubt be in for.
You know who has good fields but no good teams to fill them? Wesley Chapel.
I think TBU's DA moves to the top of the market, and FPFC's ECNL and CC's DA fight for second place. But then again, maybe some newer/better league comes out next year and all the clubs are starting from scratch again. That's a US Soccer problem unfortunately.
Originally posted by Unregistered View PostThere is an expectation across those involved in the higher league (ECNL) that they will get access to the best of everything (including coaches, families, players, etc.). So things like field access, practice times, coaches salary levels, are expected to be the best the club has to offer. In many cases, the fees paid by the families involved in the higher league don't cover the true cost of participation in the higher league so the money is diverted from other parts of the club to cover it. If it is not handled head-on and constructively it can really bother a lot of the other families, players, coaches, etc. at the club. It's tricky.
