Not going to take the bait on the Bayside bashing as every club has good and bad parents and teams.

Sticking to the thread though it is concerning that my kids Liverpool team from RI was never told we could not play in the MA tournaments. When is that info going to be released and reached out to coach, heard nothing, but wonder if our team will head to NH. Too bad all this happening last min. Some of us need hotel rooms if going to NH.

On another thread someone said that they’re just gonna bring their club anyway do you really think an out-of-state club is going to try to enter a Massachusetts tournament this is all getting very foolish.

Why would the hosting club and facility operator risk getting shut down by the state by allowing a non-Massachusetts team to compete? It would be in their best interest to pre-emptively shut that down or risk the state making an example of the club and the facility operator.

Ok so RI teams bow out of our MA tournaments and head to NH. It sucks but whatever they are tournaments. I’m wondering will the RI teams be allowed to participate in competing against MA teams playing in MA NEP this spring?

From what I understand, the restriction is on out-of-state teams coming into MA to play MA teams, regardless of whether it's a tournament or a league game.

There is not a single rational person that believes that there will be any covid impact from a Rhode Island or Maine club playing in a soccer tournament in mass. The only impact is less revenue for the local gas stations and Dunkin’ Donuts. It’s time to stop being good Germans. Right now a team from mass can play a team in nh but a team from nh cannot play a team in mass. 100% of the people reading this know that this policy is useless. This ends when we decide it ends. Today seems like a good day.

Yeah, well, the Stasi have the power to fine at a minimum, and shut down your business in the extreme. Tyranny.

This is not correct. Currently, Mass teams can not travel to another state to play another out of state team. We can only play other Mass teams within Mass. Sucks, but this is what Gov Baker has required at this time.

Technically a MA team can travel to play but they have to follow the travel guidelines of the state and their school which can mean testing or quarantine or both. It’s stupid for a short trip for an outdoor soccer game but those are the rules.

Yes, it's a "hey, we know we can't constitutionally restrict interstate commerce, but we'll make it as hard as possible on you." F-ing bureaucratic assh0les. Tyranny.

Is youth sports a necessity like commerce? The state doesn't seem to think so.

Think other youth sports teams are happy about this? Rally anyone you know who heads up big LAX or Baseball programs and lobby the statehouse, or just protest out in front with all the kids uniforms and masks. Get the Globe to do a piece on it. There's power in numbers
