Freshman dad we at least wait until regionals is over around here to start this nonsense. Don't worry you'll have plenty of time to talk about your kid in July and August.

Yes they will be lead by a freshman that the Mass sites refer to as Honey Boo Boo. Very easy to shut down

Utter nonsense. Why dont you wait a month or so like someone suggested and then let someone who knows something about RI high school soccer come on here and make a more reasonable prediction.

Wonder who the 5 were who voted against EWG moving up?? (probably the D1 schools on the committee SK, LaSalle, Bayview, Prout,

also, wins are now 3 pts so better separation..

                FALL SPORTS

Is this a summer league or are we really talking about high school fall soccer before regionals and summer break even starts.

yes it was a vote along division lines--the D2 schools all voted for EWG to move up, the D1 schools for EWG to stay in D2. Don't forget from a D1 perspective that the divison is really wide open so having one more competitor that could upset things is not really what anyone wants. Even West Warwick migh thave done well in this year's D1.

                      Oh god and it starts.

Smithfield lost their engine in the middle - no threat there anymore
SK lost their lone natural scorer - just bruisers and bangers there now
NK lost hammer, crazy girl up top - rest of team is soft and inconsistent
                      Portsmouth - really?

LaSalle, Bayview, EG will be cream of crop with Prout rounding out top 4.

EG? Doubtful. Bayview will be strong but Lasalle will have the most depth. Some teams that could have counted on an easy win against Warwick Vets might not get so lucky against EWG if they put on any kind of show in D1. EWG will be the spoiler that those coaches in the RIIL meeting hoped to keep out of D1.

Always a wild card because of the private schools being in the league and seeing what new blood comes into those schools. LaSalle certainly has the depth when you look that they had very few seniors and their JV programs did very well and when you start with a solid GK, you eliminate the variable that hamstrings the programs with strong players.

Smithfield is on the decline for the near-term. Bayview had some talented players and probably has the best coach in D1. Portsmouth has some good talent and has been strong in MS/JV programs recently. With the 3 points, you will see more separation.

Yea, and it is funny those Catholic school folks that preach living the Christian values in education and co-curricular activities are not so charitable when it comes to giving their teams an advantage..

EWG is not as strong this year as last, lost 3 strong seniors. I commend EWG for making the move even though they are aware it is a very big risk. They are on the downhill of their strength. As all public schools do peaks and valleys EWG after this year will really be heading towards the valley. A fact is, EWG offered to move up to help Vets who has been hurting for some time. When this went through the D1 coaches they are and were against the move. EWG will be stronger then Vets.

Why would EWG move when a realinment is after this coming season. Why not wait to see where you end then. If they are on the decline.
