Their rankings goes in the tank from U12 to U13 when they step on the big girl fields when you can't count on your goalkeeper to punt a bounce over the other team's keeper.

If you watch the video some, the Richmond team has some good size and decent athletic players too. The big difference is to see the Richmond team string together some passes and touches on the ground some whereas FESA just launches the ball downfield first big kick possible and chases. Both styles can win at U12 on baby fields but kickball does not win once you move up to big fields. It is pretty obvious looking at FESA ECNL records. FESA is sacrificing future development for wins on baby field so they can brag about something. The kickball also covers up for lack of technical ability and possession skills. The video does not lie.

One or two break aways a game is all it takes. It puts a huge amount of pressure on the defense and keepers the full backs at home to help. I don't like the style but it is effective for womens soccer at all levels.

if Clay, JA, Fesa ever did combine top players ....would they even be better? in all the games I have been to watch (a lot), there are good players but not many that would be considered above that???? it seems to be apples to apples IMO.

The law of numbers says you are going to only have a very few elite players for a given population. Some age groups seem to be worse than others for whatever reasons. But combined NE FL team would definitely be more competitive with ATL and S. Florida teams than they currently are. Each club has mostly a combination of non-athletic players with decent technical or good athletes lacking technical on their top team rosters. Top clubs in the nation have more players who are complete package. As far as development goes, it is harder to develop a non-athlete into an athlete than it is to develop non-technical into more technical. In other words, if you don't have size, strength, speed, it is hard to get it.
