I've heard rumors of U.S. Soccer adding a U13 age bracket for 2018-19. Does anyone have any insight?

*The Girls’ Development Academy is currently in the first year of the program. Academy Leadership is in the stage of observation and analysis about any potential age groups for expansion, e.g. U-13, U-16 single age, etc. If the Academy were to expand, all clubs that complete this application would also be considered for additional potential age groups and would receive communication prior to confirming participation. Note: Existing Academy Clubs do not need to apply for any potential expansion, they will automatically be considered for any additional age group expansion."

I could see keeping the combined U18/19 for trapped seniors though.

But the demand from the parents is there because it gives their kid more of a chance of making a "top" team, which is all most care about anyway. So no doubt the market will demand it. Then it truly will just be ECNL 2.0 and clear as day that GDA was never about developing better players but solely about wrestling control & $$$$ from ECNL.

If U.S. Soccer expands the number of clubs at U15 on up you would have a point but that is not the case.
