The lie about other presidents not comforting the families of fallen soldiers was so beyond pathetic. Just when you think he can't sink any lower into moral depravity, there he goes again.

I'll go bankrupt to get out of my mess and they're SOL" then yes....you get the picture.

He probably thinks of capitalism on a personal basis, as "I just do whatever I want and F everybody else". That philosophy as a businessman has carried over to the presidency. Only he's learning it doesn't work quite the same way in politics.

McCain, presented with the prestigious Liberty Medal by the National Constitution Center, spoke about his 60-year career in public service, saying he was “so very grateful” to be “a bit player in the extraordinary story of America.” However, during his address, he attacked the growing divisions within the country, saying that “we have a moral obligation to continue in our just cause.”
“To fear the world we have organized and led for three-quarters of a century, to abandon the ideals we have advanced around the globe, to refuse the obligations of international leadership and our duty to remain ‘the last best hope of earth’ for the sake of some half-baked, spurious nationalism cooked up by people who would rather find scapegoats than solve problems is as unpatriotic as an attachment to any other tired dogma of the past that Americans consigned to the ash heap of history.”
“We live in a land made of ideals, not ‘blood and soil,’” McCain continued, referencing the Nazi slogan chanted at recent right-wing rallies. “We are the custodians of those ideals at home and their champion abroad. We have done great good in the world. ... We will not thrive in a world where our leadership and ideals are absent. We wouldn’t deserve to.”

Funny thing is every news story I've heard today has had to add the disclaimer that he is suffering from a serious brain tumor, as though that explains his actions. He needs to retire while he still has some dignity remaining. A great man, no question, but he needs to stop talking.
