DTs election was like US being eliminated for the world cup. Exposed some ugly truths.

There is only one ugly truth...

"The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other peoples' money."

DT as the champion of capitalism? I would love to see his essay in response to "please discuss the similarities and differences between capitalism, socialism, and communism". It would be a pile of incoherent fact challenged garbage like everything else he touches.

I'm not sure he could even define those terms, much less discuss similarities and differences. He probably thinks of capitalism on a personal basis, as "I just do whatever I want and F everybody else". That philosophy as a businessman has carried over to the presidency. Only he's learning it doesn't work quite the same way in politics.

If capitalism means "What's in it for me, my family and friends while I'm in office" then sure he's a capitalist. If capitalism means "Screw that contractor. He did the work but I'm not going to pay" then yes he's a capitalist. If capitalism means "Screw my investors. I'll go bankrupt to get out of my mess and they're SOL" then yes....you get the picture.

The lie about other presidents not comforting the families of fallen soldiers was so beyond pathetic. Just when you think he can't sink any lower into moral depravity, there he goes again.

God's perfect punishment for his weaseling out of serving. He has to call the parents of a fallen soldier.

Yes he might be learning a lesson or thing about empathy, but he isn't helping our Country.

Fuk that. I havena't often agreed with McCain on many things but he was spot on yesterday:

McCain, presented with the prestigious Liberty Medal by the National Constitution Center, spoke about his 60-year career in public service, saying he was “so very grateful” to be “a bit player in the extraordinary story of America.” However, during his address, he attacked the growing divisions within the country, saying that “we have a moral obligation to continue in our just cause.”

“To fear the world we have organized and led for three-quarters of a century, to abandon the ideals we have advanced around the globe, to refuse the obligations of international leadership and our duty to remain ‘the last best hope of earth’ for the sake of some half-baked, spurious nationalism cooked up by people who would rather find scapegoats than solve problems is as unpatriotic as an attachment to any other tired dogma of the past that Americans consigned to the ash heap of history.”

“We live in a land made of ideals, not ‘blood and soil,’” McCain continued, referencing the Nazi slogan chanted at recent right-wing rallies. “We are the custodians of those ideals at home and their champion abroad. We have done great good in the world. ... We will not thrive in a world where our leadership and ideals are absent. We wouldn’t deserve to.”

What the eff is he even talking about? I think Eisenhower, Roosevelt, Patton and McArthur might have a different idea about what American leadership and ideals abroad means. Time to stop caving in and start kicking ass again.

Funny thing is every news story I've heard today has had to add the disclaimer that he is suffering from a serious brain tumor, as though that explains his actions. He needs to retire while he still has some dignity remaining. A great man, no question, but he needs to stop talking.

Turn the channel if you don't want a disclaimer or read a newspaper.

What's more pathetic is that a sick old man, who should go home and spend time with his family and friends, is the only one from Congress speaking up.

Also pathetic are the predictable threats back at an ill senior citizen from the counter puncher. Guy has no idea how to gracefully take a punch and keep quiet.
