    Everton America

Anyone have any feedback on Everton with all the changes this year. PH no longer there and TR taking over for him as well as split with FCW. TR is a great coach and good guy. PH not so much. Hopefully TR will be successful

Split with FCW does not impact EACT very much except their top players who want to do DAP don't have a soft landing spot.

Never had any issues with Paul. So not quite sure where you are going. TR will brings his own personality to the club

If their top players and also all those that believe that they are the top talent or future top talent do not have a soft landing spot, wouldn't that impact EACT?

What would it take for EACT to get Academy status? Is that a realistic option?

The top players will leave no matter what. What those players lose is going to a team that already knows them and their strengths. What the club loses is the pereception that they have a pathway to DAP. Releadlicaly this impacts maybe six players in anyone year.

No way EACT gets DAP by itself. They are too close to BS and don't have the history.

If they merge or partner with some club similar to what they did with FCW. A NYSC or WC comes to mind

i would expect to see more EA players pathway to BS DA now that the FCW connection is severed....5-6 ex-EA players on the BS DA U12 team.

            You are correct...

That's the direction they went prior to relationship with FCW

Now there's other options in NY for those inclined to drive, including NYCFC for the supremely talented. BS is it's own mess right now and the new facility won't appeal to some EA families, just as it won't appeal to some BS families

Clubs can earn DAP U12 only badge. EACT would be actual be good fit. They do a decent job at the younger ages. Beachside has be poaching players for years. If there development was so poor why are they on your roster?

Mickey tolerated them when he did not have younger teams. Now he will crush them by any means necessary. He got bigger fish to the west to worry about. So you can expect Mickey to crush EACT. This will let him focus on his next conquest.

You make a great point about younger DAP.

Agreed that EACTs development is strong and that BS has poached their talent for years.

EACT has to figure out their spot in marketplace

EA is doing just fine. They do a solid job developing players, the better of whom will always move up to DA no matter what DA club that is (and there's lots of NY clubs available as well besides FC). Dissolving the FCW partnership was a bummer but FC management was an issue. EA cleaned up their act and aren't running A-D teams like they used to. NPL teams are good, drops down a bit after that but there's a place for them and BS, always has been. Agreed MK needs bodies to help pay for the new facility, but the new facility location won't work for all the families at either club.

Go look at standings. Everton is a mess.

Standings four weeks in? Yeah, we care.

I've had two kids at EA. One dropped soccer for another sport and the other moved "up" lets say. To their credit they do a nice job with development. I witnessed loads of kids get good playing time even when it meant a possible loss. That's what you want from a club. It can be frustrating to not win games that seem very winnable and some parents don't like that. To me there's no excuse to not give kids a decent amount of PT U14 and under. Doesn't have to be be equal, but fair should be expected. EA did that, at least our experience with two age groups and different coaches. Fall standings shouldn't matter as they'd all be U14, and it's only 4 weeks in. Parents get too caught up in results
