    For the $2,000 x 4 x 25 = $200,000 fees
    50 x 4 x $125 = $25,000 try out fees

for $225,000 they get in revenue, you would think they could put together a better program?

        $2000 x 4 x 70 paying players= $140,000

Cost of program for GDA: around $850,000

Last weekend they showed how much faith they had in programs, that all so goes for CU and FC as well boy and girl's. Would have been a good weekend to show off programs at FC Portland show case.

True it’s struggling but what do you expect? Hopefully the kids feel ok about it.

That is a lot of money. Hopefully it improves.

Why $850K? Are they paying those rec coaches $200K each?

Thornz can't afford to enter the Winter Showcase and get hammered by OYSA div 3 level teams. They can't keep players more than a year now - the place would be a ghost town if they lost in state.

Thanks for your two cents FC Portland Coach.. I know the tournament is a massive money grab for your club. Unfortunately DA only plays in DA sanctioned tournaments or those with equal value ie Dallas Cup, Surf Cup etc. Crossfire would never play in that tournament because they don’t want to fill the pockets of a competitor nor be exposed, which is a shame as many of those CU players would benefit from the local college coach exposure this tournament provides.

Thorns are already struggling. Losing to an in state team would be devastating so they would never risk it.

So parents pay for most of the travel?

Of course. Thornz Asylum is a huge money grab. They take a pile of money from everyone for their Mickey Mouse tryouts. Then they "redistribute" funds from OYSA to fund the Asylum. And then they charge ridiculously high fees for what amounts to a rec-level experience.

A scam of the highest order. Backed by lemmings.

Don't forgot it's the highest tier of competition/development for youth, backed and funded by US Soccer. Jealous much? It hurts that badly? Wow.

And yet players who started and played full 90 minute games are quitting to return to their OYSA teams. Yeah. It's that bad.

Highest level according to who? GDA is not even as good as OYSA in most regions. US Soccer saying it's the top tier doesn't make it the top tier. And Timbers running soccer into the ground in Oregon doesn't make lemmings any smarter either.
